South China sea is not our neighborhood... The US did not stop China from building those artificial islands in SCS. It was India that pricked China's superpower balloon in Dokalam, by intervening on behalf of Bhutan, and stopped China from bulding that road in "South" Doklam. Guess what China has still not dared to try and build that road.
When Xi Jinping will be in India, this October, Indian Army IBG s will still be exercising in Arunachal Pradesh (which China calls South Tibet) to practise mounting short incursions into Chinese territory. The excercise Him Vijay has already begun...

I was about to post my answer but another member beat me to it. Btw - it's heartening to note you've made peace with your status as a third rate power and with your impotence. The only way you can declare your presence is by being of nuisance value - harbor fugitives from all around the world, meddle in other nation's internal affairs, talk not stop about human rights ans when confronted by Jalianwala Bagh massacre and the famines or the trillions looted develop selective amnesia or paralysis. If there's anything left thrown in self righteous PBS media like BBC to act holier than thou.

So, you only intervene when it's right on your border, yet you expect the US and UK to intervene thousands of miles away.

Unlike you, we've no pretensions of being a "great " Power. That includes not boarding ships of "hostile" Powers near our bases located in distant climes and squeal when one of ours are boarded opting to negotiate and slowly but surely weasel out. In which case why did you even precipitate the crisis?

The only detection of the attack on Saudi Arabia's oil installations was carried out by the French air defence frigate Jean Bart, who was patrolling the Gulf. She was in the right place at the right time her SMART-S Mk2 radar designed by Thales recorded the entire attack.

The DDG Flight IIA Arleigh Burke who were not far away did not see anything. The Americans asked the French navy for the radar tapes recorded by our frigate to analyze them. :)
