US - Iran Flare Up

@BMD.. wassup ... Turkey fired artillery near US special forces...and the US vacated it's post, and ran with its tail between it's legs like a good dog. First Iran, now Turkey. Looks like the message has gone out that US only has the stomach to fight jihadis in flip flops, and not any decent Military. I guess, lots of countries in Europe who emasculated their militaries and put their faith in Uncle Sam, are shivering right now.

It's more a case that they're no longer going to waste money disinfecting the world's toilet. War costs money, sanctions cost the other party money.

So when's the latest round of sanctions by Britain on Iran due. While you're at it, do inform us of the when would UK sanction China for what's happening in HK?

The US are in charge of the sanctions management department.

Ya.. Tell that to Israel... What's happening is the US is being slowly thrown out of the middle east. US will be forced to vacate Iraq next. Next time when Dandy Kushner comes along with a piece plan, the middle east will just spank him and spit on his face..

Nope, it really is just the money. This is what Trump put in his manifesto.

As long as that territory is not under Assad-control the geopolitical objective is accomplished anyway. And meanwhile the US is ploughing the money saved into hypersonic weapons and space-based interceptor development in order to fight more important enemies.

I'd have to agree here in as far as Syria is concerned. The whole damn issue is so vexed & complicated that there's no saying if it'd reach any resolution and when. Turkey & Russia have patched up but are on opposite sides here. While Iran & Turkey are on cordial terms, out here both Iran & Turkey have Kurds in their territory where in case of the latter they're malcontents. The US can sit out this one. They've achieved what they wanted to on behalf of Israel & possibly KSA. Active & complete de stabilization of Syria & the Assad regime .

But you know the best part Paddy.Hell , you're such an old pal, I really can't keep a secret from you. It's not even a secret.

In all this melee, thousands of ISIS fighters have broken free, out which it's estimated a good 1-2k are from the UK. I sure hope you know what that means. Wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & Eid Mubarak all in advance.

Cheers!

Don't be so sure dude... The Kurds are now ready to partner with Assad and Putin.. and Assad might just regain those oilfields...
Syrian Army delegation has already entered Manbij, with the kurds' blessings, after the US fled.

Pakistani PM #Imran Khan had hoped to pose as statesman peacemaker. But, receiving him,#Khamenei cut him down to size by raising only 2 issues:
1-Security of border where 78 terrorist incursions from Pakistan happened in 2018.
2- Financing gas pipeline project dormant since 1998. ( )

Khud ke ghar ka na chath hain na farsh, chale doosron ke ghar sawaarne. This is naya Pakistan.

It's not about oilfields, it's about a pipeline.

Did Israeli Stealth F-35s Do the Unthinkable: Fly Over Iran?

Did Israeli Stealth F-35s Do the Unthinkable: Fly Over Iran?

Key point: Israel's enemies are unprepared to fight Jerusalem's F-35s.

Israel’s F-35 stealth fighters are positively supernatural: here, there and everywhere. In 2018, the Israeli Air Force claimed its new F-35s had attacked Iranian targets in Syria. Also in 2018, Arab press made dubious claims that IAF F-35s had flown over Iran.

Now comes reports that Israeli F-35s have attacked Iranian targets in Iraq, according to Arab media.

Western diplomatic sources allegedly the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that on July 19, “Tel Aviv carried out an airstrike earlier this month against an Iranian rockets depot northeast of Baghdad.”

El Arabiya television reported that the strike hit Iranian ballistic missiles being transported in refrigerated food trucks. Several Hezbollah and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members were reportedly killed,

A second strike targeted another Iranian base, according to Asharq Al-Awsat. “The Ashraf base in Iraq, a former base used by the Iranian opposition People's Mujahedin of Iran, was targeted by an air raid,” according to the newspaper. “The base lies 80 kilometers from the border with Iran and 40 kilometers northeast of Baghdad. The sources revealed that the strikes targeted Iranian ‘advisors’ and a ballistic missile shipment that had recently arrived from Iran to Iraq.”

Compounding the mystery were initial reports that unidentified drones conducted the attacks.

Amos Yadlin, former head of Israeli military intelligence, told U.S. publication Breaking Defense that Israel probably did attack Iranian targets in Iraq. “Apparently, Israel is really operating in Iraq,” he said. “It is sensible that Israel will not claim responsibility for such an attack as it may complicate things for the U.S. Without referring to the specific attack I can say that the F-35 is the ideal aircraft for such an attack.”

As so often in the Middle East, especially in the shadow war between Israel and Iran, it’s hard to know exactly what happened. The tale changes with whoever tells it, and why they’re telling it. Still, we can make some educated guesses.

Iran working on nuclear-capable missiles: European powers

Iran working on nuclear-capable missiles: European powers

Britain, France and Germany have accused Iran of developing nuclear-capable ballistic missiles in a letter dismissed by Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on Thursday as "a desperate falsehood".

UN ambassadors for the three countries said in the letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that Iran's actions were "inconsistent" with the UN resolution enshrining a 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

But Zarif on Twitter said the Europeans were covering up their own "miserable incompetence" at abiding by the nuclear deal and were "bowing to US bullying".

The letter referred to footage shared on social media in April this year of the test flight of a new Shabab-3 medium range ballistic missile variant that was "technically capable of delivering a nuclear weapon".

The European powers also pointed to three other launches this year, including that of the Borkan-3, a new medium-range ballistic missile tested by Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen on August 2.

The letter, dated November 21, said these flights were "the latest in a long series of advances in Iranian ballistic missile technology".

Iran's UN ambassador responded in a letter saying the European powers were using "unreliable sources" and "outdated reports" to make misleading arguments.

"Iran is determined to resolutely continue its activities related to ballistic missiles and space launch vehicles, both of which are within its inherent rights under international law," the letter said.

Iran has always denied plans to develop nuclear missiles and says its nuclear programme is only for peaceful energy production and medical purposes.

The landmark 2015 deal gave Iran relief from economic sanctions in return for curbs on its nuclear programme.

But it has been at risk of falling apart since US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from it in May last year and reimposed sanctions on Iran.

Known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it was agreed between Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States.

Twelve months on from the US pullout, Iran began reducing its commitments to the deal hoping to win concessions from those still party to the accord.

Following deadly violence in Iran sparked by a fuel price hike, President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday said he was willing to return to the negotiating table if the United States first drops sanctions.

In his remarks, Rouhani said his government was striving to remain in the nuclear deal despite "pressures" that were on it.
