With this I agree, Soleimani was a military leader for all external facing iranian operations. Also a political leader groomed by Khamanei for a greater role in the future..
I dont think invasion has to be physical, its just projection of power for control & authority. If you can do that from 1000's of miles away why physically invade.

Norway wasn't a party to the War in Iraq or its aftermath during the insurgency. It did become a party following the formation of an Iraqi government, the current one and its predecessor, which asked for Norwegian assistance in training Iraqi troops during the transitional period and providing support, generally intelligence, but at times kinetic, during operations against ISIS starting in 2015.
Norway trains the Iraqi military, but if necessary does provide kinetic support such as force protection or even troops during operations against ISIS in built-up areas in and around Anbar, where Al-Asad Air Base, the location of the Norwegian Camp Midgard, is itself located.
This was strictly at the request of the Iraqi government, a relationship that continues on through today even with the recent flaring in tensions between the Iraqi government, Iran and the US. Targeting our troops and the Iraqis we're stationed isn't going to in militias any favors or points.
Blame the Americans for the rest. Wasn't our doing.

Well, there will be hardly any jurno in India who would actually know what is the situation in middle east, most probably , except for defence analysts. The Iraq would have demanded this exactly after the siege of US embassy, which gave the coalition an opportunity to conduct this raid. This solves many purpose.
1. Trump becomes a strong leader
2. Iraq is happy
3. Message is given , no one sieges the embassy
4. Talks have limit and red lines which shouldn't be crossed
I am more skeptical about the oil price , Russian and Chinese reaction now.
It will take some time for the Iranians to come out of the shock of invincible Soleimani's death..

This is why Iran should have built Nukes when they had the opportunity. I am not looking forward to see more theocratic Islamic republics & dictators with Nuclear weapons, but still, Iran was stupid not to build nukes. American played their game well.

Iran did had an opportunity to build nukes, same way NK built it. They blew it when they signed nuclear agreement, betting on economic benefits when moderate fraction came to power . At this point, it is not possible to build nukes anymore especially after NK checkmating US invasion possibility for ever with their nuclear weapons and ICBMs.

The problem is not weather they should have built the nuke or not. The situation was and is who takes natural gas rich Iran as an ally. The americans, were more concerned about Russians passing some nuclear technology to Tehran indirectly and in the whole Iran nuclear fuzz the actual target is Russia. But Russians, know well that, passing nuclear tech to an Islamic nation would not be a sane idea, unlike Americans passed it to Pakistan and here you are dealing with NoKo and Iran as well.
