Don't be ridiculous sweetie ! Why would we be interested in Thanksgiving leave aside what the prospective second lady & her immediate & extended family do on Thanksgiving ?
Instead of posting no brainers why can't you post something which will stimulate our senses ( no sweetie , that's not what I was referring to ) like this little talking point from the original California grifter.
I mean you've got to hand it to him. Unlike his successor the Afro Indian grifter from California 5 decades plus later who was a vacuous piece of work , at least Tricky Dick had a sound intellect .
Now people especially Republicans point out to Irish Joe's pardoning his son highlighting a long standing tradition within Democratic ranks of their Presidents pardoning known felons or in this case prospective felons harking back to Bill the smooth aka William Clinton's tenure & his pardon of a fugitive from the US justice system only for the Democrats to retort the trend was started by the Republicans under Tricky Dick who should've been convicted of Hoffa's murder & disappearance .

Don't be ridiculous , you'd say. But it's a fact. Tricky Dick pardoned Hoffa commuting his sentence coz he thought doing so would win him favour among the Teamster's Union & get him their votes in his second term especially since Hoffa had been a huge supporter of the Republicans even when the Democrats were shining under Kennedy where Tricky Dick lost out in an extremely narrow win to Kennedy in 1960.
If Tricky Dick didn't pardon Hoffa , Hoffa wouldn't try to be a pain in the a r s e of the Teamster's management & their backers in the mafia & Hoffa wouldn't be disappeared likely murdered. Bottom line - Tricky Dick ought to be charged for Hoffa's disappearance & suspected murder.
Nonetheless all these pleases me immensely. It points out to a certain rot within the US political establishment & the break down of an unwritten consensus on a whole host of things vital for national interest & the vitality of the nation & its institutions.
What we have instead is a sort of Third Worldism of politics in the US. That in my opinion for whatever it's worth is a sure shot indicator of the decline of the US. Your descent into third worldism has already commenced just that you didn't notice it .
However while it may not manifest itself in broad strokes in my lifetime , it'd certainly do so in yours. The Chinese weren't all that wrong in their assessment of the terminal decline of the west especially the US except they'd be the catalyst for it & they'd precipitate it in reasons even the wily Chinese can't fathom.
The old isn't dead yet while the young is still to be born.
