Midhani is now upgrading these with more exotic materials which they have just recently developed and new thermal coating will improve it further.Pretty good then. It's no different from any western 4th gen engine. Only short of engines like M88 and EJ200.

No doubt that Rolls Royce, snecma, are making noise that they are ready to transfer engine technology to India. They know by 2030 india will be self sufficient in engine technology, in at least what they have now. Future advent type engine technology with 2350 degrees c TET will be a generation ahead of what we will have by then. But even with ej200, ge414, snecma m88 level of technology we should not have any problem by then....
Seeing any effort on that ? I was so disappointed when news from the Kaveri Marine engine died down. Is the project closed ?But at least current technology allows us to make forays into gas turbines for power generation as well as powering ships and such.

Country lacks testing facilities for aircraft engines: Kota Harinarayana - The New Indian Express

Hard facts right there. We do not have the kind of manpower, the infrastructure to test and develop the Jet engine on a industrial scale. https://t.co/JJzs3MR1vn

Long time no see. You were missed. Both you @Aashish seem to operate in packs. Either you're prolific together or MIA together. This is such a storm in a teacup
Yes it's true that India lacks flying test beds but this really isn't as big of a deal as some would like us to believe.
FTBs have been lacking in the past but when required have emerged- HAL has multiple FTBs for testing of SARs, EO payloads, transponders, SATCOMs etc etc.
When Kaveri is ready to be flight tested it will be- the platform will come.
Look at UTTAM- they moved from a ground test centre to a helicopter now to a biz jet FTB and a LCA LSP.
According to the UK Minister for Defence Procurement James Heappey, “Soon there will be a government to government agreement related to collaboration in developing a jet engine.” Without elaborating further the visiting minister indicated that the announcement will come soon.
What a joke. US / France / UK everyone says the same thing.
MIDHANI has successfully fabricated high-pressure discs for the compressor section of the Adour MK 811 low-bypass turbofan that powers the IAF's Jaguar fighter-bombers. A noteworthy example of import substitution in the materials arena.

Anyway, @DRDO_India's GTRE has taken up the development of a non-afterburning version Kaveri engine (IUCAV-UHF20) for a sanctioned cost of Rs.1068.69 crores.

👉SX turbine blades and vanes are produced by using an orthogonal grain selector from advanced Ni‐base superalloys.
👉Ceramic silica cores are used to get hollow cast components
👉Intricate cooling channels are possible
👉DS and SX components can operate at higher temperatures
