i have googled about your labs and spoken to many students here who have worked on those labs. They say,the condition is very bad. There is no proper tools to carry out any research. What they do is, they connect wires from battery and light a bulb or make a simple radio. The profile of research at your institutes is not even close to India. Be it aerodynamic structure of a missile, or a sub. You dont have proper knowledge of designing them. Building a missile first needs talent and research of basic level, which is not there. See, ever uni in india is now capable of developing a uav, satellite, a small marine sub, and better material. You dont even have labs for semiconductor research and you are building babur((edit Raad)?

India already has a variety of air launched cruise missiles. During war weapons and its capabilities matter and not whether it's indigenous or imported, first thing.
After successful tests of nirbhay cruise missile the program is now shifted to development of a family of next generation stealth cruise missiles similar to scalp missile which will be in production by 2028/30. A capability which Pakistanis will only be able to dream of just like brahmos...

Currently only 2 and will be a maximum of 42 after HAL completes the modification work.
On the other hand the entire Pakistani Mirage fleet can carry both Raad-1 and Raad-2 and entire JF-17 fleet can carry Raad-2

You forgot Brahmos NG which is in making. Entire IAF fleet of Fighters mig29, mig29Ks, MWF, 272 SU30MKIS all will be able to carry Brahmos NG. SU30MKIS will be able to carry 5 of Brahmos NGs, too much for Pakistan to handle.

That's Air to Air missile version and not Air to surface. Also India always under reports the true range of missiles. Brahmos range was always 550kms which is now being enhanced to 800kms. Air launched version will have a variety of ranges depending on Speed and hieght from which it's launched. So DRDO has habit of stating the lowest range. Just like LCA Tejas stated to have 300kms range which is grossly under report...☺

There was a proposal to develop the air to air version of Brahmos by the same corporation should IAF express an interest in it. In the event the IAF didn't. I gather it would be a very expensive proposition. As it is we're acquiring Meteors which should do the job & prove more economic than the Brahmos in air to air version & in all probability we'd be coming up with a desi variant of Meteor as well. Then there's the SFDR program.Air to air Brahmos?
