No way will the AMCA Mk2 be ready by 2034.
AMCA Mk2 meaning new engine. Nothing else. If new engine matures fast enough then the timeline will work.

Improving Mk1A to Mk1B and Mk1C should be part of plan. This should include improvements to avionics and ew capabilities. Potential for an engine providing more power for weapons and avionics. By the time the AMCA starts coming online in 2035, realistically, the rest of the supporting tech should be deployed on the LCA.
He specifically mentioned they will look it to new version of Mk1. But, Did you forget Mk2 ? If it reaches production by 2026-27. All is good. Need for new version of Mk1 depends on timelines of Mk2 not AMCA.

I am not random.
It is very plausible. Tenders are out and it will fly in a few years. Almost all underlaying technologies are proven. They are skipping the prototyping step it will be directly pre-production aircraft. CAS looks confident about 2026 timeline which is reassuring. Even if its late by few years they can easily increase the production rate. It will have the momentum from mk1.

I hope your optimism is rewarded!

It seems the plan is to get a new aircraft/new version of an aircraft every 3 years. Almost all will be powered by the GE F414 engine.

..
AMCA will start before TEDBF, AMCA studies are almost completed not sure about TEDBF. Is there any team working on TEDBF?

HVT specifically answered this question.

TEDBF will come ahead of AMCA .

With LO features.

Based on results of TEDBF, ORCA will be decided.

Maybe AMCA need longer research & development timelines.

I am not sure how is it possible... IAF has a dedicated funding plan towards AMCA whereas TEDBF will be funded by IN... only time will tell

So, fan-made. No point reading into these.

You guys need to revisit this post & the thread on Twitter.

I am commenting on the slide IMG, who is giving this timeline ADA? AMCA studies are almost completed whereas TEDBF is a new concept.
Both projects are yet to get funding clearance. ADA spend 200 cr from their budget so far towards AMCA. AMCA was suppose to be cleared by now. (LCA mk2 was approved on 2010 with completion year as 2018.)

TEDBF is even newer development. All timelines are contingent on funding.

When Vikrant will be ready, Fighter planes will join at the same time. F18 is already available for IN ...will TEDBF ready with IOC? Time will tell

Mk2 is not just a new engine.

LCA Mk2 entering production by 2026 would imply concurrent production, I am not such a big fan of that. But that's also their IOC deadline. So if production starts about the time the jet gets IOC, then it's fine. Point being IOC matters. For both LCA and AMCA.

TEDBF is incorrect there. They are expecting first flight in 6-7 years. PDC+detailed design+FSED = 6-7 years.

Vikrant will use Mig-29s until 2032, when TEDBF will hit the scene.
