I'm surprised people are having a meltdown here. It's well known that am a would be the latest out of them all. The tfx will go the same path the altay went. A failure.

"Considering the timelines and niche technologies being looked at for AMCA, it would be prudent to have a back-up development/realisation plan in place to ensure availability of alternative systems and sensors in case indigenous plans fail to mature as per planned timelines,” Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari told BW Businessworld in an exclusive interview.
@randomradio
What are those Alternative systems and sensors(Other than Engine)?
your Guess?

Or Maybe They will Learn From Altay [Project, Just like we did from Tejas.

Backup collaboration for radar, EW suite, combat cloud etc, so an alternative is available in case the DRDO-designed stuff is late. So either MRFA winner's tech or Israeli tech. I don't agree with him 'cause it's unrealistic. Apart from having to pay a lot of money for duplication, it effectively puts industry at risk if their products can be replaced with foreign systems in the name of de-risking AMCA.

The IAF's most realistic bet is still a stopgap measure for 2 squadrons, like the Su-57 or F-35A to make up for any AMCA delays. By 2028 or so, they will know. Post which, they can initiate an MRCBF type competition for a stealth jet for delivery before 2035.

LCA Mk2 will definitely get delayed. Enough is known about DRDO to not take their deadlines seriously. If there is a delay on this front, they should just add an extra squadron or two of Mk1A to make up for it.

Why is he letting a loophole with ' almost completed ' .

Why not report it when it's completed.
IAF gets like a fixed number of days to review the documentation. If they find something lacking or want some specific tweaks, they might send it back and not sign it.

If everything is fine, then the announcement on IAFs part may come during Aero India.

If I am optimistic, then MoD and CCS should clear the funds within like 3 months from the date IAF accepts it.

If everything goes right, this Savan construction would begin.

It's 2026 now, we ve been hearing that year in number of places.
I was referring to the CDR. The rest is contingent on when GoI sanctions funds. Initial estimates were Mk-2 first flight by 2022 , AMCA Mk-1 by 2024 & TEDBF by 2026 . All have been delayed by 2 yrs. Let's hope it doesn't get pushed further. As it is on Twitter, the amateur experts there were despairing the lack of testing facilities. Just 1 iron bird apparently being shared by 3 projects itself converted from NLCA.

what does HAL guy has to do with ADA project?

In what way he is relevant to AMCA?

HTT 40 project belonged to HAL only?
Prashant finished the project with young team and made it successful in relevant time.

After that he moved to AMCA project not long ago when the stainless steel like model of Amca revealed.

Few days back someone tweeted, he going to TASL.

This is what the government needs to watch out for . After all if there was no HMT there'd be no Titan. In the case of HMT it was both a case of government collusion & apathy which saw HMT wrist watches division being hollowed out . Wonder what's the GoI's position here ?

The draft Preliminary Services Qualitative Requirements have been forwarded and the IAF has reviewed the detailed design prepared by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) after undertaking comprehensive design studies on the project. The IAF will be fully involved in design iteration, flight testing and programme management of the project. Induction of AMCA is likely to commence in the middle of the next decade.

@randomradio i have one question can we use both radar and internal SPJ to jam a particular target. Will it be effective.

The radar is primarily X band, so the SPJ will need to be turned off in order to prevent interference. I'm not sure if software has reached a point where both can be used simultaneously.

But what you can do is use multiple jammers from multiple platforms to get the desired effect.
