Well the French did have Napoleon who sent the Brits into a tizzy & reduced your elite then to sans culottes ( pun unintended) with his campaigns & blockades. He aimed to achieve what the EU has now done 2 centuries ago. Without the Brits too. And eventually succeeded too. 2 centuries later.Not in the way he imagined.All Unintentionally, of course. JVs of this scale with Europe and US are impossible and never gonna happen. If we do end up joining such projects, it's not gonna be anything more than what the UK is to the F-35. We can only afford small projects with very low gestation periods on an equal basis.
