I just got discharged after COVID19 infection three days back and doctors have advised at least three to four weeks wait before taking the first jab. In short there should be 40-45 days gap from the day one gets infected if person wants the jab.

Actually, it was pretty easy for Modi to ask for stopping elections right now. When the number of cases were sky high last time, in september, Modi should have made a public appeal to cancel all kinds of congregations religious and political. Indian people would have listened.

As for opposition, it would have been politically suicidal for them. Plus if push comes to shove, he should have declared emergency with explicit reason to protect Indian lives. Given his strong man image and current situation, no one would have questioned it unlike Indra Gandhi's fake emergency reasons.
I think I know the reasons why. It was BJP's own internal politics. There must be some promises made to candidates in BJP. This weird indecisive behavior of BJP is because of beaurocracy and BJP's internal politics.

Did you forget the US had their elections at the height of the pandemic in the US? It's impossible to stop political congregations unless we are under martial law. And that's synonymous with Emergency, which is pretty much a political blackhole.
The only thing that could stop the pandemic was if people took the disease seriously and avoided gatherings altogether. It's basic self-realisation. But people think this disease is like the flu and a bit of fever.

Diarrhoea alone has killed 4 times as many people in the last 1 year as Covid has in India, and the diarrhoea static is for only those who are less than 5 years old, not adults. And there are worse diseases that kill even more, like typhoid and measles.

It does not work like that. The suppliers are not US government but US firms. Put it simply, US government will allow sale of items. US suppliers cann't sell them unless SII asks for them specifically.
Honestly, nationalism is the front on which any attack on Modi government would have gone worthless. Modi has been called dictator since always. It has only helped him. Those who vote for him will love to vote for him if he is called dictator because those people actually want a benign nationalist dictator. Someone who is decisive. I mean these are the people who gave him high marks AFTER the lockdown which was decried as dictatorial. Stopping religious congregation will be much bigger issue in India than political ones. But if Modi appeals, there is hardly anyone who will say no to it.
Lastly on the front of what is needful, US had presidential election, we are still doing stupid Panchayat election and losing innocent lives in it. If Indian government declares Emergency and it is well in its rights to declare emegency in sept-aug 2020, there is nothing any one can do against it. There are no stories to spin about it. Words like dictator etc have lost their power in India. Remember what happened when they called Modi to be running a SCAM in India? Congress got butchered. Actually, right now, ONLY threat to Modi will come from the idea that he is ineffective leader.
The reason why this disease is dangerous is NOT that it kills a lot. It is because it makes so many people so sick that it can crush the health care system like it is doing right now. The fight right now is to keep the health care infra intact, which has collapsed. When that happens, LOTS of people die. People who won't die otherwise. There is a reason why we have overflowing funeral grounds. Its because we do not have means to treat those who are getting badly sick FOR ANY reason. This disease is making a lot of otherwise less problematic diseases lethal.
No, doctor clearly said I would also require two doses. And yes a positive patient does have higher immunity from COVID19 even if for short term.

Modi's handling of Covid 19 is a bigger failure than Op swift retort was for porkistanis. Shameful that so many lives lost just for the short sightedness of this guy.
There is no doubt Modi administration has *censored*ed up badly and knowingly. What is also important is to ensure that the bureaucracy responsible for this mess is made an example too. They need to be punished hard. Very hard and publicly so that no new aspirant for a government beaurocratic job will ever dare to seek it just as an easy place to retire.
We, the people, have always cursed politicians but these folks are more insidious. They are seldom punished really. Their properties are seldom captured. Their families seldom suffer. Its time modi administration shows us what happens to criminally ineffective government beaurocrats.
India has been let down not just by politicans but also majorly by these beaurocrats too.
