Defence Budget Allocation & Defence Procurement Procedure : News & Discussions

@Falcon

The Corona Pandemic has badly hurt the Financial Position of the Govt.of India

Last year Fiscal Deficit was 10 percent

And just when economy was recovering , we have this second wave

What ever faults MMS.had , he always said one thing correctly that

" Money does Not Grow on trees "

And Projects like Central Vista create Employment and the Consumption of Cement and Steel keeps the economy moving

Dont blame corona for the sluggishness during 2014-2020 period.
Money will not grow on trees, and enemy will not play a fare game too. They dont care what is your economy is up to.
If i am not wrong Chinese still holding some positions, before squeezing military you should know why it has happened.

India's requirements for both Development and Defence are always going to be Infinite

Add to it expenses like Subsidies , Poverty Alleviation , PSU Bank Re capitalisation , Toilets etc etc

It is always going to be a Tough Balancing Act

By the Way , I recently met an Ex Colonel who is stuck up at his brother' s place due to Lockdown

He said that if there was UPA govt today , China would have conquered LADAKH

When rhe entire world is spending 2-3% of their GDP for defense , how much we are spending for our force? Remember we need to take down two nuclear power simultaneously that too from both eastern & western side.

Regarding the colonel's quite " Dont give weightage for IFs in history ".

Can someone clear something up?

In the Budget at a Glance (pg 14, title: expenditure of major items), the budget estimates for expenditure in 2022-23 is ₹ 385,370 cr.

In the Ministry-wise Summary of Budget Provisions (pg 2), the revenue allocation is ₹ 364,746.55 cr while the capital allocation is ₹ 160,419.60 cr. If the Defence Pension (₹ 119,696.00 cr) is subtracted from the total estimates (₹ 525,166.15 cr) - the result is ₹ 405,470.15 cr.

So, can anyone explain the ₹ 3.85 lakh cr figure given in the Budget at a Glance?

Yeah, it pretty much means a big deal is in the offing this year, 2022.

Won't be Vishal, if approved it will only enter design stage. Definitely SSN. I won't be surprised if the SSK deal is also signed this year, if the IN has decided to skip out on sea trials, but it's a much smaller chance than the SSN.

Let's not forget MRCBF. We need to pick our 26 jets.

IAF has the maximum Capital Budget at 55 K Crores as compared to 32 K for Army and 47 K for Navy

@randomradio
Can we Dream about MORE Rafales 🤣

36 more? Unlikely. But MRFA is going ahead this year.

It's time we merge BSF , ITBP and SSB into a single entity. Only then they will be able to make any decent capital purchase like a helicopter wing.
