A minor correction from my first post on the topic. France uses AM1 on Rafale, owned by Onera. CMSX is owned by Cannon-Muskegon Corporation, an American brand. F-22 and F-35 use Pratt and Whitney's PWA 1484. And Rene is by GE.
Who do you think will the Indian Government select for the JV? I think RR has the best offer currently and will do the best tech transfer. After gaining the technology for this engine, india should buy the su57 which I believe is a really good 5th gen fighters jet even with the American propoganda against it because it easily outclasses their exporter f35 in many departments and even f22 in some. Just don't know why their deal is so taking so long. But first we need to fill in some of our gaps with the FE414 engine deal.
Also how are you getting these papers? Shouldn't these research papers be secret and secured? What if countries still developing their tech uses out file like suppose china although they may be ahead of us right now in engine technology, or pakistan, turkey etc.
izdeliye 30 is a great engine, and I doubt they are going to share the hot core part with us, 177s is offered but I don't think it's worth it.
As far as the JV partner goes, whoever it is, is going to rip us off, that much is guaranteed. Only hope is we get testing facilites up front.
Btw off the topic but some of the critical components for Aravalli engine will be made in India, don't know which exactly but "critical"
And the work share in shakti engine is going to increase, so there that.
Read some papers on VZhM4, of course it's in russian, so can't properly translate numbers, but by far the best engine outside western sphere

Yes as far as raw materials goes, But I was talking about the machines which US has. What use is DMS4 to use, if we can't make something out of it
Read somewhere(think it's ****) the deal will be finalised in the next 2-3 months however instead of a 5th gen engine we are going for a 6th gen engine with Variable Cycle Technology, don't know anyone apart from america who has developed the technology and I believe india is leaning toward RR or maybe safran at the moment both of which haven't fully developed this technology. But if we get hands on this technology, it really would be a big bonus to our indigenous industry, the advanced material science, design, manufacturing methods, testing and certification, quality control and it would be big bonus if we get a know how and know why of designing the engine. Also since our 4th gen kaveri with afterburner probably won't be powerful enough for tejas, what is the next stage of our indegnious development related to kaveri and where might it be used? I feel like the present kaveri may have some design problems since it weighs much more than ge f404 while having less performance than it even while kaveri is incorporating some newer technologies not found in f404, can anyone explain the reason behind it and our next stage on the process? I hope the kaveri with afterburner will be used on some fighter jet or drone.
