We used to get woken up in the middle of the night, blindfolded and made do front rolls on smashed glass. Then sent to the shower, and we saw red water on the floor. It was all psychological training.
The glass was tube lights and bulbs and shards were too weak to penetre deep and cause any deep wounds. We had many cuts, but all skin deep. All bled and coloured the water, creating a very scary scene which wasn't necessarily dangerous. And the blindfold was actually to protect our eyes
