I will tell you my own case then relate it with Falcon, he is too humble to promote himself. I have two close friends in IA and a close senior all at good officers rank. Both my friends were my roommate and it was close group of friends including my senior, all very closely bonded. Right now one of them is in Kashmir and another moved few days back with tanks to Rajasthan. None of them tells me anything not even a nod or general statement. This is how hard it is to get credible info.
The one in Kashmir is very comfortable in sharing his business accounts details I even have his netbanking password as he is heavily dependent on me for his IT needs but not a yes or no to confirm even Babajis statement. Even asking certain questions raise eyebrows and its best to avoid talking on operational matters. Falcon is retired professional, and I dont know how he does that but he certainly gives this forum the most credible info we can find, maybe because of his good contacts he gets a pass or whatever he does. I follow plenty of retired high ranking officials on Twitter and its impossible to find one tweet even hinting at something. They know it all but chose not to share as it will create problems.
Follow defence journalists those who spent life creating sources and how many of them will you see sharing anything close to what Falcon shared? This is when they are paid to get such scoops, they are either shut off or not authorized to share the information. This is very thankless job to bug someone and verify the facts and then write them in a way that you dont give the whole picture yet people can connect the dots. The last thing we should do is to make them feel unpleasant or unwelcome, most people and I suppose even you said what you said because you were not aware of him but lot of people are following him from years now and his track record is very solid. So lets enjoy and analyze what he posts and take it as per our liking.
Good Day to you.
Uhhhh...
If folks can use a bit of common sense then its not too hard to sift facts from baloney...
Here are some facts from this entire episode of confrontation with Pakistan...
1. IAF went into Pakistan and bombed some targets. This is not even contested by DGISPR. It is a fact. Before this happened,
@Falcon had indicated that some major resolute action will be taken. I remember his post stating "Sticking my neck out. This time we may actually throw the choice to Pakistan". It did and it was major.
2. When Pakistan denied Balakot, I wanted to verify that. The first doubt I actually had was the immediate reaction from DGISPR and how Balakot was being mentioned.
@Falcon had mentioned at that point : "We don't know where IAF hit". And yes, official confirmation never said that it was Balakot or only Balakot. IMHO, till now we don't have a confirmation that target(s) were only in Balakot. For sometime, I wanted to confirm what has transpired in Balakot. It didn;t go anywhere, as expected.
3. We have heard some incredible stories too... like India used missiles. Or Indian army using MBRLs. Or India has moved
entire LoC westward by 500 meters. All turned out to be half truths or outright lies or atleast unconfirmed.
@Falcon had indicated them.
Its quite easy to see which information to trust.
Now here is a live example of baloney which is on-going :
2 Air Force personnel including a squadron leader killed, 2 others injured in road accident in Awant
What is being discussed is that "India is reporting Su-30 pilot KIA as died in a road accident". It is not hard to see that it is a baloney! There is one more person died in that accident and he is a Corporal. AFAIK, in IAF corporals are not exactly fighter pilots or co-pilots.
@vstol Jockey please correct me if I am wrong.
Not to mention there are two injured. Will India be able to hide deaths by mis-reporting it as an accident.. with two injured? Hilarity ensues.
