Listen to this interesting interview of this old man, who was in spot when the 3 pilots came crashing down.
It seems the Pilots of 4 F16 looking for intrusion into India, were dressed up as Sikhs, in case of emergency inside Indian territory. They never expected they being shot down inside Pak territory, being its own playground.
This also explains the mistaken identity & mob lynching, which we already know & the old man was also part of same mob.
This makes a lot of sense, as I always had a hard time, in what the trigger could have been & why mob would mistake them with such certainty as enemy indeed.
PS: Indian Sikh fighter pilots don't fly with Turban, I know for certainty as I am sikh too & most of my family & extended forces are in various armed forces.
If they spent as much training they wouldn't have lost the Starfighter to a Gnat & an F-16 to a MiG -21 Bis. But then this is the Pakistanis we're taking about @safriz

No, IAF is not PAF. It never was and never will be. There never will come a time when IAF will have to fall to such a level. You think you are doing IAF a favour by asking for proof while claiming you don't want IAF to become PAF? What is your intention here? Other than yourself, nobody else is raising so many doubts.
Do not question the intention of others for being skeptic. This is not a Pakistani civil society to take everything based on the words of the 'officers'. Unless they bring sold proof we should be able to question them. Especially, when the third party claiming the contrary.

So, one can be a critique and question the IAF. But I cant question them? Easy to be critical of others, gets difficult when the one who is critical ends up on the receiving end.

I am not the only one to point out here, that the evidence we have should not be given just to pander to the local proof dikhao crowd. If the person, uses national security reason as "excuse". Then I believe I do hv a right to question him.

You questioned his intentions, not his argument. Huge difference.

Yes, he mentioned "National security" reason given was just an "excuse". I feel such line of thinking as dangerous. Hence I said what I said.
Public pressure can force govt. to do stupid things. Post IC814 Hijack, I still remember constant protests all over the country to do what ever necessary to free the hostages. Due to pressure from the people and political parties, the govt. folded and Thousands have suffered and died due to that stupidity.

This is probably how Pakistan is explaining that its F-16 fighter jet inventory is intact

Pakistan had said it purchased 12 F-16As and 1 F-16B from Jordan, but in a 2014 image released by its military’s publicity wing ISPR, 2 F-16Bs can be seen.

He is correct 'national security' should not be an excuse to hide failures. Every past failure, we critically analyzed and reformed ourselves. In retrospect, the shock of 62 was the best thing happened to the military establishment. It changed the entire mindset. Reforms paved way for the glorious victories afterward. Same in the case of Kargil intelligence failures.

We should not be like Pakistan military establishment which bury its failure. Thus never reform. No one is accountable. An institution like that is bound to fail over time.

IC814 Hijack is a bad example, Public opinion influenced an ongoing operation. Which is a failure of the govt of that time and It was criticized to death afterward thus it won't be repeated.

Air engagement is over and the loss of Mig-21 and Mi-17 should be critically analyzed. How did abhinandan end up deep inside POK? How did we lose seven by friendly fire!? C&C failure? Did Abhinandan breach RoE? Was he lured into Pakistan only to get shot down? A lot to answer.

What failure are we talking about here ? What makes you think the IAF is hiding a Failure ? What evidence do you have to suggest this and on What basis are you saying this. ? Lets not assume failures and then ask IAF questions which might hamper National security. Where exactly will this stop? Can I also raise questions on India's Nuclear weapons stockpiles and try to force the govt. to declassify state secrets?
In the end when no failures are found and all the state secrets are out, What then? If you have any proof and evidence, then this line of questioning matters. If you are throwing this out there blindly, then this is even more dangerous. Military has to now prove its innocence every time some mango man from the internet questions it ?

We are not the Pakistani military establishment, we never will be. Please avoid giving me this line of reasoning.

"We are not like the Pakistan military. So show me all your secrets to prove that you are innocent."

The Govt. made an incorrect decision and it paid the price. How about all the idiot peace niks who protested nonstop forcing govt. to make the stupid decision.

I trust the IAF to carry out an enquiry on the matter and take the right decisions. They don't need help from us, and they don't need us to question them. If the IAF said something, its true. IAF will carry out the inquiry, mistakes will be corrected, Feb 27th fight will be analysed and doctrines will be modified. IAF will do what is necessary. They don't need any Moral oversight from forum members. Systems are already in place to handle this.

The IAF is made of people much better than you and me, right now they need us to trust them. Not raise unnecessary doubts on their action every single time. I trust them to take the right action. This is not blind Faith, IAF till date has been honest about plane crashes, pilot losses and everything else. Don't even attempt to compare my trust with any Pakistani and their military establishment.
