@nair @Falcon . Now that the BJP is back in power, what are the implications on india pakistan standoff? Wait till 2024 pre elections? Clearly thing haven’t escalated as everyone predicted. And everything will go back to surgical strike level trumping with the next attack. So what next? Your opinion please.
Heard Sushmaji yesterday gave sweets to sweeten the bitter times and Qureshi assured that no terror group exists in Pakistan.

Jury is still out to decide if it was diplomatic masterstroke or diplomatic coup.

If Pakistan keeps speaking lies and lives in denial that India is not understanding their insincerity, Pakistan for sure is asking for more pounding
He didn't really said that, I added that being sarcastic as it is standard response of Pakistan, it would have looked bad if we didn't even got standard response even after gifting sweets.

I expect Modi to engage Dimran. Then comes the terms of discussion. There's where things start floundering. Followed by talks where they're run aground. Then the fun begins. I anticipate the whole process would take 2-3 years, perhaps less. Just my 2 cents.

I think that the Pakistanis will continue to face pressure along LC, there is going to be no let up on that. And as India starts into Defence modernization phase, the pressure on Pakistan over finances will increase.

The uptick in US-Iran tensions also have greater ramifications for Pakistan than what they realize. Let us hope that they continue to make the same mistakes that they made. But I am not very sure that they will do so.

The re-appointment of Musharraf era members in power now indicates that they would like to do what they undermined the last time round - control the ultras, crack down on fundamentalists in a demonstrable fashion and to open negotiations with India.

The conditions on Indian side remain that same - dismantle terror infrastructure and cease all activities in PoJ&K and J&K aka exit PoJ&K.

I've heard that the IA is not allowing PA to occupy their posts along the LoC. Any truth to that?

Yeah, it's gonna be an action packed term when it comes to signing contracts.

I doubt we ll sign significantly more than what we ordered last term.

What major acquisition s , do you think possible in this term ?

Wasn't there some integrated AAA guns to be acquired ? @randomradio
There was also an Israeli system"SkyGuard". What happened to that ?

Work is ongoing for multiple types of CIWS.

Biho won the tender for SPAAG requirement.

Apart from that:
IAF's got the Base Protector Gun tender for 244 guns, which started last year. It's an MII program.
IA will release a tender for 938 towed guns someday soon.
IN has asked for replacement of the AK630. I guess 30 guns.

All three tenders are for Indian companies, with tie ups with foreign companies.

Skyguard is a chemical laser. I don't think it's being developed. It's American, based on THEL. We have our own programs for this.

Yes, pretty much everything that you've been hearing about all these years will be signed by the end of this term.

MMRCA, P-75I, NMRH, NUH, LUH, LCH, LCA Mk1A, LHD, carrier, next gen destroyers, FICV, FRCV... Everything.

Skyguard is a chemical laser.
I got the name wrong. Wasn't there a automated system that combined radars and multiple AAA guns to shoot down aircrafts. Isreali made it was reported we were looking at acquiring it. Can't seem to remember the name.

What are they looking at ? Phlanx type system ?

BAE partnered with Mahindra defence for this one, right ? Who else is on the race ?
How may years have we waited for this ? Just get something, anything.
next gen destroyers,
P-18, as the rumours would have it ? Apparently it will be a 13,000 ton destroyer with IEP and we have never made IEPs before.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
It will also have lasers and stuff. Do you have anything concrete on the NGD ?
