Do you take these things seriously ? they will say the same thing for every country they exercise with. Both sides will sing songs about each other and move on, no one reveal the shortcomings or strength of each other.
No man. Just look at exercises involving Rafale, F-22 and Typhoon. Not only fanboys on internet, but their respective AF have tried to one up the other.

Also, after exercise Indradanush 2011(IIRC), RAF chief Mr. Dalton claimed blatantly that IAF lost. Not always every other AF is gonna praise you, it's not a given!

Plus, after reading the twitter thread by Sammer Joshi sir, there should be no doubt left about the training, tactics and skills of our air jocks. 'Nuff said.

Hope people realise its just for show (assuming this is not half baked report after all) & not actual offer in mrfa as some overjoyed souls are shouting from rooftop almost  basically same as putting up some f35 posters sort of effect.

In the actual work, IAF is completely at a standstill now in procurement, despite losing a mig21 & navy losing a fulcrum last year. Those mig29 are the ones that worry me the most. Its a good jet but in Ukr using these are coming up well short against modern jets.

Indian Mig-29 UPG are a different breed compared to Ukrainian Mig-29s. With Astra 1 and 2, their lethality shall increase several times. Their EW system is already cutting-edge.

If only we could redesign the intakes that shine bright in IR and the Rd33 , maybe adding good composite panel to the airframe.

Nothing is perfect, but they are still very dangerous jets. That's why IAF was looking to procure 21 more. But no updates now on that front.

Ukr Mig-29s are junk. Limited EW and no BVR.

The engine on our Mig-29s is much more modern.

Yup RD-33 series 3 engines are very good with around 4000 hour service life.

And as per old blog of Prasun da, Mig-29 UPG also has composites when it went for MLU:

Airframe & Engine Upgrades

Planned for incorporation into the Su-30MKI fuselage on a progressive basis from 2006 through to 2017 on 114 of the 140 HAL-built Su-30MKI Mk3s are all-composite structures like wing spars and wing boxes, air intakes, fairing skins, fairing blocks, co-cured co-bonded fin and centre-fuselage components, elevators, rudder and its all-composite torque shaft, ailerons, belly fairings, landing gear doors, ceramic thermal barrier linings, and ceramic brake-pads. Interestingly, several such structures are currently being incorporated into the IAF's MiG-29B-12 airframes as well.

Air Force Begins Mega Air Exercise In Northeastern Region

The IAF's frontline fighter jets including the Rafale and Su-30MKI aircraft, and other assets deployed in the region are engaged in the exercise named 'Poorvi Aakash'.

The Indian Air Force has kick-started a mega exercise covering the Northeastern region to check its combat readiness amid a fresh spike in tension with China along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh.
The IAF's frontline fighter jets including the Rafale and Su-30MKI aircraft, and other assets deployed in the region are engaged in the exercise named 'Poorvi Aakash'.
"Eastern Air Command has commenced its annual Command level exercise Ex- POORVI AKASH today. Conducted after a gap of two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ex will involve activation of the Command's assets for routine practice of aerial drills, including joint exercises," the IAF's Eastern Air Command tweeted.
The Shillong-headquartered Eastern Air Command is carrying out the exercise.
There has been a fresh spike in tension between India and China after troops from the two sides engaged in the clash along the LAC at Yangtse in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh on December 9.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Parliament on December 13 that the Chinese troops tried to "unilaterally" change the status quo in the Yangtse area but the Indian Army compelled them to retreat by its firm and resolute response.
The incident took place amid the over 31-month border standoff between the two sides in eastern Ladakh.
All frontline air bases and some key Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) in the Northeast are being involved in the exercise.
The Army and IAF have been maintaining a high state of operational readiness along the Line of Actual Control with China in the Arunachal Pradesh and the Sikkim sector for over two years following the eastern Ladakh row. /end
