Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion

So they are redoing VLSRSAM and I'm hoping SAAW v2 is an improvement. They need to order fast in batches and not wait for improvements.
the naval sam is probably an effort to reduce the canister module weight, ie the whole 8 set one that is installed in the ship. Instead of those plume/jet deflectors that are placed below, now they probably gonna add vertical ducts for the same purpose?

There is nothing on astra 3 yet, esp with astra mk2 and 1 both in trials now. Rudram 3 some time away from testing. Pcb warhead for rudram 2 tender came up few days ago. Its probably sonic booms that is being heard.

I am speculating but could it be XRSAM/ERSAM?

L&T outsourced some of the work for LR-AShM related design & service contract they got way back in 2022-23. Suits well with the LR-AShM dev timeline & its first test last year. Some interesting projects will come to light in near future.

ATGM soon apparently, though which it remains to be seen

CCS Clearance for LCH with ATGMs, 12 Su-30MKIs and MP-ATGM to be granted, meeting likely in Aug 2024.

We need to look at ordering more than 12 MKIs as one more has crashed lately. Around 40-50 more at UPG./MLU/Super Sukhoi specs would make perfect sense for restarting production. For 12, it doesn't make too much sense, IMO.

Some warheads are to be made soon for BDL , possibly for ULPGM ?
pcb we know, I guess fcb means fragmentation c blast . Likely for ulpgm v2 maybe. Split in 10-5-10-10 as per listing.

Few years ago, we were discussing purchase of knocked down kits from Russia & assembling in IAF base depot.

If indigenous upgrade also included , then could be at HAL.
