CPI(M) rents out office building for Rs 15,000 per month to run local unit
"We have decided to lease out the office and we will get Rs 15,000 on a monthly basis," CPI(M) committee secretary Narayan Chandra Ghosh said adding that it was "getting tough to maintain the office, pay electricity bills and salary to party whole-timers."
The building – Rabin Sen Bhawan – was inaugurated on May 1, 1999. “We have decided to lease out the office and we will get Rs 15,000 on a monthly basis,” CPI(M) committee secretary Narayan Chandra Ghosh told PTI. Renting out a party office building by the CPI(M) is surprising as it had ruled West Bengal uninterrupted for 34 years before being ousted by the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC in 2011 and defeated again by it in 2016.
In the formidable Left citadel in West Bengal for over three decades, Bardhaman was considered a CPI(M) stronghold. In Purba Bardhaman district, the TMC has 15 MLAs and the CPI(M) has only one at present. The decision to rent out the building was unanimous and all 422 members of the committee, who had mobilised funds for constructing the building 18 years ago, supported it, Ghosh said.

Also now that Rajiv Gandhi is gone few decades back how come Sonia Gandhi the party president and Empress of India at a time, how come she tolerated her in party and not bury her silently? The Congress is well placed in Karnataka. They'd win in spite of RG , thanks to Nidderamiah's political machinations more than his administration .BSY is discredited and the JD-S is a spent force . It seems that muslims in India are going to get the biggest set back of their life in the Ram janam bhoomi case. SC has decided to hear it as title suit. This means that the verdict will be about who owns the 2.77acre land on which the masjid was built. as per Islam, a masjid can be built only on a land which has either been donated or bought. As per Sanatan Dharma, The temple land belongs to the Temple deity and he owns it. People (Pundit of the temple) acting on behalf of The Sitting Deity can take a decision on the land of the temple. Now Muslim groups claiming the land to be theirs have to produce the evidence that they had acquired the land legally when the temple was demolished and the Masjid built. If they fail to prove it, they will be treated as being in illegal and adverse possession of this land and as encroachers. This will also decide who is the actual owner of the Masjid-Shias or the Sunnis.
If the verdict comes in favour of Hindus, it will automatically become applicable to 44000 other masjids which were built over Temples in India after demolishing them and also forever solve the problem of Gyanwapi and Mathura Masjids. It will be useful to do a bit of background reading on the Statute of Limitations as it applies to Land Encroachment, and the time within which a legal complaint may be filed for a valid objection to be made. The Supreme Court cannot invent law.
Wow, that's a big prediction. I was personally hoping for a hung assembly (where Congress would likely be biggest party but not big enough to form a Gvt, with JDS and BJP then tying up). But that would really piss me off if INC barely scrapes to a majority. The implications would also be too great for National Politics and upcoming elections like RAJ-MP-CH & Lok Sabha.
Karnataka CM is facing Anti-incumbency and unpopular among People. It might match that of SP in UP for Congress in Karnataka. But JD(S) is not dead as BSP in UP. BJP is going to be the Single Largest Party. INC can only form Government by forming alliance with JDS.
