Indian Political Discussion

I'm coming around (back) to Modi too. 370 obviously being the big push.

But what you (and we) are seeing is the evolution of a fascist state.

One where sooner rather than later, our vote, if we still get to keep it, won't really matter.

Because there will be only one party. One ideology.

As Henry Ford once said ... you can have any color, as long as its black.

Or saffron ...

Cheers, Doc

No doc. There is one key difference. Hitler came to power and he could not be removed (he shut down elections). So long as elections continue Modi/ BJP/ RSS will be out in the next 5years/ 10 years/15 years. I see some of the regressive laws as similar to the regressive laws that come into the US every now and then (abortion prevention and so on). Theese jokers don't realize that when they go out of power they will be ridiculed just like how the others are ridiculed.

Funny how you didn't seem to mind when that was (much more) the case with Congress's single party-single family rule for a rough ~60 years.

The Congress ensured that we always got to vote. Good bad or ugly, elections always happened.

And the Jan Sangh and the BJP grew under the Congress's watch.

Were the tables hypothetically turned, such would not have been the case.

As we will see soon.

Modi is a man. What is taking over the nation is the machine behind him.

Bro I'm not as confident.

This election shook me.

It's not about Modi or Shah or the Sangh.

It's about one billion Hindus.

WTF???? You’re justifying the Congress which imposed Emergency, dismissed countless Gvts at will and even fanned insurgencies through dirty political games & rigged elections???? And yea, we saw how the Jan Sangh/BJP grew, by going underground and dodging arrest - not due to some Congress benevolence or spirit of democracy.

The very hallmark of a democratic/tolerant country is one where folks like you and GaaND have the right to engage in whatever illogical slander you want against the Gvt. BJP, under Modi or anyone else, has yet to do anything remotely as draconian as Congress; nor have they done even a small amount of the damage Congress did to the country's democracy and institutions.

You truly become baffling by the day Doc

Let me tell you a secret that even shocked me. Doc loves the Shiv Sena.

The Emergency was the only blip.

And even that never went through.

India remained a democracy.

We are heading toward one party rule now.

I won't say a Hindu autocracy. Because those defending the Sangh will point to its internal "democratic" working.

But the end result is the same.

A single thought process enforced on the entire nation.

No dissent.

Fascism.

2024's gonna be even worse; by then BJP consolidation in all its firm "fort" states will be absolutely complete, plus they will have finished what they started in Bengal & Odisha, plus they will see huge gains in the two Telugu states.

Only Kerala (increasing BJP voteshare), Punjab (strong ally in SAD) and Tamil Nadu will be left...

Naaa...as lons as elections are there the equations keep changing. Remember 2 years after Modi's first win Bihar demolished him and Delhi took him to the cleaners. So long as elections continue, we will eventually be fine.

Sahebji Dickraa. I thought the elections results 2019 would see you permanently confined to NIMHANS. I'm not sorry to see you here. What brings you here the RW neck of the woods anyway? Got booted out of your beloved PDF?

Let me tell you a secret that even shocked me. Doc loves the Shiv Sena.

Let's try and not make this personal.

I've never hidden the fact that I have been a sainik since I left college.

Or that I am very close to senior cadre where I live.

I'm speaking as an Indian here.

Cheers, Doc

Now that there are 2 offshoots of the Sena, a clarification would be in order? Raj Thackeray's MNS or Uddhav's SS?

Hi man.

I made my first overtures to the other side at Other Forum.

I got banned from there inside 3 days (250 posts).

I've made my peace with a Hindu India.

I think it's time for me to speak to the other side.

Cheers, Doc
Welcome back . The entertainment quotient was sorely missing. As was an opppsing PoV, however whimsical and eccentric.

On this situation let me vent out my frustration by using a popular Hyderabadi slang.. Kejriwal ki m@@ ki kir kiri !!

Aap bhi un sab ke saath mile hue hain jee

Both.

At different levels.

Started with the latter.

Cheers, Doc
Lucky you. As far as the former is concerned, Raj was recently in Bongo soliciting support from you know who. What next, I wonder? Pit stop in Bihar? Lunch with the Yadav clan. Just one problem given his immemse love of Biharis and other North Indian migrants to the state, wonder how well they'd take to him?
