The Congress ensured that we always got to vote. Good bad or ugly, elections always happened.
And the Jan Sangh and the BJP grew under the Congress's watch.
Were the tables hypothetically turned, such would not have been the case.

WTF???? You’re justifying the Congress which imposed Emergency, dismissed countless Gvts at will and even fanned insurgencies through dirty political games & rigged elections???? And yea, we saw how the Jan Sangh/BJP grew, by going underground and dodging arrest - not due to some Congress benevolence or spirit of democracy.
The very hallmark of a democratic/tolerant country is one where folks like you and GaaND have the right to engage in whatever illogical slander you want against the Gvt. BJP, under Modi or anyone else, has yet to do anything remotely as draconian as Congress; nor have they done even a small amount of the damage Congress did to the country's democracy and institutions.
