Indian Political Discussion

First read what are the conditions required for a state to be included under special category and then tell us how exactly Andhra satisfies those conditions. If Congress promised you something, why exactly you didn't vote for them??

It's specific to Andhra Pradesh only. Heck even all Telugu people are not with you!! Remember your estranged brothers from Telangana?? They are more than happy to see you in this condition!! Basically you, which means people of Andhra Pradesh, have to deal with it alone!!
I am myself from telangana man. There is no enimity between the people here. Kcr daughter kavitha in the parliament requested centre to implement the promises made by the centre. Reading the rules ? The bifurcation bill with promises to AP and TG was passes in both ths houses with complete support of BJP. Expecting the promises made in the bill to be implemented by centre whose party fully supported the bill asking for no exceptions to be made in the bill if they had any issues is a crime of the people ? The bifurcation bill includes institutions to be set up in tg which is a different thing.

Don't bring south vs north debate here.
Offcourse it is a north vs south thing and is clearly visible. Modi mentioned about giving 20000 cr package to bundelkhand not long after the people of AP started agitating. He mentioned about giving 1.25 lakh cr package to bihar, and nothing for AP ? Before you start how backward these regions are there are parts of AP which are really backward. The request is to mostly help these backward regions. You have no problem when centre gives packave to these areas but have one when a state from south India asks to implement atleast some of the promises made in the parlaiment bill to the state. Instead of wishing centre to implement atleast some of the promises which it made to the state you are finding fault with us ?

CBN is a fantastic administrator. No doubt about it. At the same time he is highly corrupt and a backstabber. Does he have a history of being a reliable partner with BJP? Then why should BJP play a fair game with him??
Does coming out of NDA constitute to backstabbing? When bjp leaves its allies that stood with them during there worst times it is politics but when cbn chooses to move out of nds he is backstabbing right ? CBN is no more corrupt than any other bjp cm. Do you mean to imply that since cbn moved out of nda modi chooses to punish the 5cr people of the state and backstabs them om the promises he and his party made ?

If he is smart, then he should not punch above his weight and rather ask for a more reasonable deal.
He visited delhi 29 times and begged every possible minister he can meet and asked them to provide assistance for the state. Whatever seats that bjp gained in AP both in state and in centre were because of tdp. Nirmala sitaraman was elected to RS by tdp mlas even though bjp didnt have numbers. What else should CBN do?

After doing all these now bjp wants to allign with Jagan who was the most corrupt politician India has ever seen, who has to attend CBI court every friday for his cases. Whose family tried to convert the state in to christian majority. For all the wrong doings of cbn you can dig up atleast he never shaken hands with congress but bjp and modi wouldnt have a second taught in ditching there own principles and aligning with the enemies of hindus for there benefit.

These are the words of Naresh gujral mp of SAD about the status of AP
P.S : he is neither from AP nor from TDP

Can BJP Form The Government In Kerala In 2021?

Their confusion will be cleared after they see this diagram, things will become crystal clear. Not only that they will clear confusion of others all over India. What is this upper caste party nationally ? May be this is the reason behind all this confusion.
There are a lot of cat on wall in kerala.....These percentages are variable.... every 5 year...

Which are the Hindu institutions ? BHU ? Where will you get the tax and GDP to run these Hindu institutions, ?
Yes it is a pandora's box, this will start more movements for independent religions. The 9 crore Lingayats generate more than enough tax and GDP, they also have the lands.
Even Vokkalingas will follow suit.

This is not about minority institutions, but about division of tax and revenue collected. The tax and GDP generated by Lingayats is being cornered by others.

LOL... what an ignorant statement.

Do you have any idea how much money is generated by Hindu temples in India and how they are controlled by the Govt of India and state govt. ?

Tirupati alone generates Rs. 200 crores just by the sale of Hair.

Tirupati Hundi alone generates 2,678.07 crores PER YEAR. And that is just ONE Hindu temple.

You don't know about Kerala, in Kerala all Hindus(all caste and creeds), Christians and Muslims live together, and are indistinguishable. Hindu Keralites will defend all good and peaceful fellows... even Muslims and Christians. Whatever be the internal differences, you will not get any allies or local support.

If you try to interfere, all Keralites will get united and come after you. You are more than welcome to try. You can't do Hindu-Muslim as you do in other parts of India.

-----------------------.

LOL... that is PURE rubbish. :D

There are hidden underlying tensions between communities which is not openly expressed due to civility. But everybody knows the xtians will support xtians and the muslims will support other muslims. The Hindus will continue to sabotage each other and drink away their failures.

It just requires the right trigger to bring this out into the open. I suspect the slow down in the Arab economy and the expats losing jobs and landing up in kerala will create a social disgust that will open up this Pandora's box.

Will see what happens in 2019 when bjp fails to get a clear majority.

No one is asking for handouts, that is something you made up. What do you mean by demanding funds from centre ? CBN govt is aaking centre to implement promises that were made on the house of parlaiment by past govt and was supported by the preaent govt in opposition. Blackmailing the centre ? There are already 11 states that enjoy the special category status and centre provides 8000 crores every year in order to bridge the revenue defecit for Himachal pradesh. How do they have any special right on tax payer money than telugu people ? Or is it because the states from south have no say in asking assistance from centre to help them during their worst times ? This inspite of the fact that south india provides 30% of tax revenue to central govt while making only 20% of the countrys population. ?

The bifurcation bill and the modi govt both promises they will convert vizag railway division in to a new railway zone which they didnt implement even after 4 yrs. The vizag railway division is among the top 5 revenue generators in the country Infact it is a revenue surplus division that supports the entire east coast zone. The centre wants to make money off the pockets of telugu people while implementing none of there promises to the state and when people ask the centre to implement the promises made and treat us the same way as other ? Lets not even start about polavaram project the less said about this project the better.

Provide links to substantiate any of your claims.

The Modi government has accepted recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission for increasing share of states in central taxes to 42%. (From 32% during CONgress rule)

The entire revenue is shared based on a clearly defined formula recommended by the 14th FC and the formula for horizontal devolution is detailed below,
  1. Fiscal capacity or Income Distance (increased from 47.5% to 50%)
  2. Population 1971(reduced from 25% to 17.5%)
  3. Population 2011 (newly introduced by FFC – 10%)
  4. Area (increased from 10% to 15%)
  5. Fiscal discipline (changed from 17.5% to ZERO %)
  6. Forest cover (newly introduced by FFC – 7.5%)

Also the 14th FC have provided post-devolution revenue deficit grants for States where devolution alone could not cover the assessed gap.

These states are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and West Bengal.

Among 11 revenue-deficit states, Jammu and Kashmir will get the maximum grant of about Rs 60,000 crore in five-year period ending March 2020. As per the recommendations, Himachal Pradesh will get Rs 40,625 crore while Andhra Pradesh will receive Rs 22,113 crore during the five-year period. Nagaland (Rs 18,475 crore) and West Bengal (Rs 11,760 crore) are also among top five beneficiary revenue deficit states.

However Special category status is reserved for states that have

1. hilly and difficult terrain
2. low population density or sizable share of the tribal population
3. strategic location along borders with neighboring countries
4. economic and infrastructural backwardness,
5. non-viable nature of state finances

Since AP does not fall under any of this category, there is no way any central govt. can provide it with "special assistance" so that it can build a fantasy futuristic city and call it "development".

These are the FACTS of the case, but you are free to do " rona" as is the norm for hypocrites.

Wishing for RJD and SP to emerge !!! Please die, and die NOW.
Not only RJD, but hundreds of lalus kejriwals will emerge, elections happen every 5 years. Things will become worse when OBC SC ST will get out of the Hindutwa fold, and start voting for Muslim and other non-hindu candidates.

They built school and hospital and brought electricity and water rates under control.
It is better to vote for independents ... example Jignesh Mewani.
This guy has guts and character, he will not sell out his voters, like BJP Congress sp bsp communists etc. Better to choose independents like him.

LOL..... more rubbish.

Jignesh Mewani is just another prop put up by Ahmed Patel to split the Hindu community along caste lines. He does not have any support base of his own, and he only won because no one else (except BJP) put up a candidate against him to ensure all their vote share goes to him.

He won his seat from Vadgam which is a RESERVED seat and only a Dalit can stand on that seat. More over it is a CONgress bastion and in 2012 the CONgress voteshare was 53.48 % and in 2017, this vote share CAME DOWN to 50.79%. :D

The only place Jignesh Mewani is relevant is in the News studio of "secular" channels. LOL at your fantasies.

These are the FACTS of the case, but you are free to do "randi rona" as is the norm for hypocrites.

Lets get in to facts now, the revenue deficit of the state was initially estimated at Rs 16,700 crore. The amount was later revised by the Centre to Rs 7,500 crore and the central government only paid Rs 3,977 crore. While the Andhra government claims that the revenue deficit to be paid by the Centre is Rs 12,500 crore, the Centre claims that the due in this regard is merely Rs 138 crore.

You wanna read other reasons ?

Your link has provided the explanations for the shortfall. All matters are under dispute.

CBN took his time to join the NDA and did it for his convenience and BJP is now paying him back in his own coin by acting as per THEIR convenience. I fail to see what the problem is.

If CBN wants something then its time for him to GIVE something. That is how negotiations are concluded. Do not go around pretending that CBN is some saint. No one outside AP buys that sob story.

Beta Test for 2019? Mayawati's BSP Will Support SP in Gorakhpur, Phulpur Bypolls to Counter BJP

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will make an official announcement soon, but party sources said the decision was taken after a marathon meeting at Mayawati’s residence on Thursday.

Lucknow: In a major political realignment a year before General Elections, the Mayawati-led BSP has decided to back the Samajwadi Party in bypolls to Gorakhpur and Phulpur, the Lok Sabha seats vacated by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, respectively.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will make an official announcement soon, but party sources said the decision was taken after a marathon meeting at Mayawati’s residence on Thursday.

The move marks a fresh attempt to form an anti-BJP alliance in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

It also marks a break from tradition for the BSP, which has never contested bypolls when in opposition. However, its absence in the recent Madhya Pradesh Assembly bypolls seems to have benefitted the BJP, with the Congress’ victory margin going down. Mayawati’s announcement of support to the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP may prevent a division of its vote bank.

However, the Congress, which allied with the SP for Assembly elections last year, has announced its own candidates on the two seats.

In Gorakhpur — a seat represented by Yogi Adityanath for five consecutive termsthe Samajwadi Party has fielded Praveen Kumar Nishad, the son of Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad, as its candidate. Nishad will take on the BJP’s Upendra Shukla and Congress leader Surhita Chatterjee Karim.

In Phulphur, the Samajwadi Party has fielded Nagendra Singh Patel, an OBC leader. Patel will contest against BJP candidate and fellow OBC leader Kaushlendra Singh Patel, who has also been Varanasi mayor. The Congress has fielded Manish Mishra for this seat.

Voting for both bypolls will be held on March 11, while counting of votes will be held on March 14.

Mayawati Will Back SP in Gorakhpur, Phulpur Bypolls to Counter BJP -- link

---------------------------------------------------------
@Guynextdoor UP by-polls will be interesting this time, SP candidate is son of Nishad party chief. Nishad's are the largest non-Yadav OBC caste group(BJP's traditional vote bank who vote for liquor and babas). So OBC votes got united, then they got support from Peace party, Muslim votes. Now BSP has supported, Combined SP BSP Nishad cader will work united on ground.

Congress which has developed a anti-Hindu Image and corrupt image, has fielded a Brahman candidate, to split the traditional BJP votes.

In Phoolpur, both SP BJP has fielded OBC Patel candidate, and congress, has fielded a Brahman candidate to again split the traditional BJP votes.

These by-polls are like semi-finals before 2019 elections.

Another caste champion. You are losing very quickly here, all your claim of being neutral and pro India.

Lol bjp is the biggest caste player of them all.

Politicians will always do politics, its a shame when people like me and you start following their footsteps.

Dont get me into BJP vs Congress. Once we discard one kind of politics, politicians will follow up.
