Indian Political Discussion

In fact Muslims in West Bengal also voted for BJP and the reason is they are pissed by Bangladeshis. They come in with fringe mentalities without any good education marry the Indian muslim girls and create ruckus.
Nope they didn't. A fringe maybe did. TMC got the majority of the Muslim votes. Its just that the Muslim voters were not unitedly behind mamata. Like past.

It would such a fun experience to observe how this experiment goes. I am quite sceptical about competency of TVK and Telepathy.
At best hoping industrial investments are not de-incentivized by his gov. If it forms, some critical from capability POV investments were coming up in Tamil Nadu.

I really do hope that the BJP is able to address certain projects that have been pending for a long time. Certain projects will not only benefit WB but the surrounding states as well. The state of WB bordering villages is abysmal and has been documented multiple times. I hope the border infrastructure improves and the surrounding areas are able to access basic facilities (perhaps one of the most neglected aspects apart from border security projects). Soft tactics have been tried and tested for past several decades. Develop your territory as it best fits your needs and future requirements. BD has a habit of filling notices for every other thing, any further delay due to notices/protests are best avoided.
This popped up. Gave it a watch. Severe incompetence and a lot of administrative bottlenecks associated with most of the projects mentioned (in addition to project complexity and local issues).

Many foreign outlets openly express their views and dislike for the present administration. The recent election once again has brought this to the fore. However, what I find interesting is that when an Indian media house or social media channel comments on their internal issues, the same set of folks tell Indians to mind their own business and not interfere in their "internal" disputes. Been going on for a while, I think a few channels in foreign languages would actually do India good.

Merely one of many such examples:

You just reminded me of something I read few days ago. Google apparently has brought some policy which encourages local news websites. I read one tweet saying, this puts Indian media houses covering global topics at a disadvantage. I wonder how it affects international news websites covering India related news.

If the policy is fairly enacted, it should have a proportionate impact on foreign publishers as well. I know for a fact that a certain section within India relies heavily on source citation and circulation based on sources outside. They'll simply re-word and re-publish these locally. They'll find a local workaround if it truly starts impacting their views. However, considering the alternative push from other platforms, like Tik-Tok or X via links, there should not be too much of impact.

The BJP govt. in MH needs to take this as a lesson. The incompetence (if the findings are true) when it comes to oversight is staggering.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday (May 11, 2026) slammed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for its alleged failure to comply with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, observing that there was pervasive harassment, religious denigration, systemic bullying and exertion of fear and pressure imposed by a toxic leadership at its Nashik office.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a six-day visit to the United Arab Emirates UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy from Friday.

The visit will further deepen India’s partnership with Europe across sectors, particularly trade and investment ties in light of the recently concluded India-EU FTA.

On the first leg of his five-nation visit, Mr Modi will reach UAE on Friday, where he will meet the President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders will exchange views on bilateral issues, in particular energy cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Then the Prime Minister will reach the Netherlands on Friday and call on King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. He will also hold talks with Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

Prime Minister’s visit will build on the momentum of high-level engagements and close cooperation spanning diverse sectors, including defence, security, innovation, green hydrogen, semiconductors and a Strategic Partnership on Water.

For the third leg of the visit, Mr Modi will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden on Sunday and hold bilateral talks with his Swedish counterpart, Ulf Kristersson.

They will review the entire bilateral relationship and explore new avenues of cooperation.

The two Prime Ministers will also address the European Round Table for Industry, a leading pan-European business leaders forum, along with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

In the fourth leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will reach Norway on Monday for the 3rd India-Nordic Summit and bilateral engagements.

Prime Minister will call on King Harald V and Queen Sonja and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Mr Modi will also address the India-Norway Business and Research Summit along with the Norwegian Prime Minister. As part of the final leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will undertake an official visit to Italy on Tuesday.

Mr Modi had last visited Italy in June 2024 for the G7 Summit. During the visit, Mr Modi will call on the Italian President Sergio Mattarella and hold talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The visit takes place in the backdrop of a strong momentum in bilateral ties with both sides proactively implementing the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029.

The Centre has reduced royalty rates on the production of crude oil and natural gas from several categories of fields, including deepwater and ultra-deepwater blocks, in a move aimed at boosting domestic exploration and production. The revised rates were notified by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on May 8.

GoI's handling of online propaganda against its military has been inconsistent, and has an almost non-existent centralised/methodological approach. It has been disappointing that the GoI which has a significant IT/CS talent pool available (that too for reasonable cost) finds itself unable to implement policies and systems that allow it to adapt to the age of SM based narratives. I do hope that the GoI spends some money (hire outside help or purchase custom made systems etc.) to implement better content management practices. India has a vast internet consumption base...I would look into this asap. The most awful part is that even post Sindoor the babus have not been able to grasp how things slipped away from them. The TAT for fact check accounts remains a cause for concern even now.
