Indo-Israeli Barak-8 / MRSAM

Can't be compared with Brahmos either.

Not true, DRDO was a risk sharing partner. Without DRDO, IAI would have made everything themselves but it would have been commercially risky. By partnering they got guaranteed initial customers. We still import most of the parts from them while they don't for their version.
All I am saying is we share the all important IP of the MRSAM/LRSAM project unlike MKI program which @randomradio alluded to.

We own the IP of the stuff that belongs to us in the MKI too, like the EW suite. Similarly, we own the IP of the Barak missile's motor. But we don't have any marketing rights of either.

Not essentially true, Israelis do import motors, warhead boosters and I am pretty sure some of the seekers & electronics come from companies in India. In fact they mostly assemble under their brand. I do not have the electronics parts proof right now, will add later when I find time. Like owning ip they provide details, partner company make proto & send for evaluation, after client acceptance it goes into production. Currently 7 different rocket motors are ordered from the joos.
Btw you are very correct in their intention evaluation, they partnered with exactly that interest ie risk share. Our business houses could learn a thing or two just like the chinese learned from the usa business.

MKI is not a joint venture while MRSAM is. And if they can export our version without sharing the profit with us then we screwed up once again.

Anyways, now with Akash-NG(available in both singe/dual pulse variants), now we have our own 100% indigenous system. So all is good.

Not all JVs are made the same. We have not contributed anything of significance in either MKI or MRSAM, all we are doing is producing them. So we have no marketing rights. In fact you could say that the common denominator in both deals is we won't get IP share.

We probably have marketing right for the mobile launching system , those 8x8 truck with CMS, since it was listed in the export booklet. So they do the missiles, radar part, and our side do the TEL part with comm units?

Looking at this promotional video of Barak MX system by IAI:

It has three missiles:

1. Barak MRAD: Single pulse 35 kms range.

2. Barak ERAD : Dual pulse 70 km range.

3. Barak ER: 150 kms range, ERAD with booster.

Looking at our Akash-NG program. It's earlier range with dual-pulse motor was quoted around 70. Now in recent DRDO screenshot they are quoting 30/35 km range. So looks like with Akash NG program we're mimicking Barak MX program. We also have both single and dual pulse variants of Akash NG.

If we put a booster onto the dual pulse variant then we'll have our own desi alternative of Barak ER. Maybe, the much talked about ERSAM(with 150 kms range) is Akash NG dual pulse variant with a booster.

So even if MRSAM project didn't gave us IP, it at least gave us knowledge how to develop a super effective indigenous solution.

MRSAM did not serve any purpose in the development of Akash NG. There's no relation.

I guess some business agreement is in place & this is what will be directed for other sam projects cms eventually. Maybe same tel orders go for baraks own sales?

No one with a sane mind will buy an entire SAM system from Israel and then import the TELs from India. Countries will want the least amount of suppliers possible. Why will anybody bother to work with India for a bunch of trucks and jack up the cost of the SAMs? There's nothing impressive about our trucks either.

The ones who plan on importing will want to import the entire system from a single supplier. And the ones who plan on license producing will choose their own trucks.

Its not like that, I mean we do not know status of MRSAM export, I am guessing for an export case we take IAI permission & then sell. Obviously on its own the TEL & CMS being export listed does not make sense.
It could even be for a barak 8 export from IAI they will have to supply Tata made TEL & CMS along with their missiles else there would be breach of contract. Maybe that is why they re-branded into Barak mx family with their modification?

Dual pulse motor?? And our Akash-NG is longer, thicker and heavier than MRSAM. So, it should have better range and kinematics.

Anyways, my point was about following Barak MX model/concept of having 3 different missiles(single pupse/dual pulse/ with booster)as part of the same family.

This is exactly my point. And how could IAI export the missile on its own when we own the IP of the motor?

The reason they went for Barak MX is exactly to circumvent our IP and profit sharing, IMHO.

The ones who are smart will buy the more advanced Barak MX family right from the start.

I'm more inclined to believe India's MRSAM is unique to India. Prospective customers will instead be offered Akash NG.

The MRSAM's motor was developed 20 years ago under Trishul. It has nothing to do with Akash. Even the people involved are not the same. MRSAM was basically an import project with license production via JVs. You can think of our input as customisation instead. We are planning the same for MRFA and P-75I.

I have been going thru the past meetings call & read an interesting part from July which was from Q2 meeting. I am yet to go through the last Q3 meeting from October (it is not available yet) and it was interesting. What is DRDO made alternative for LRSAM? In the presentation they showed executing LRSAM order highlighted for FY 2021-22, I think the first phase. Really hope its not just VLSRSAM they mean.

No, BEL. I am yet to go through Q3 from October (I only received audio), so not sure on latest, but from last Q2 I found that. LRSAm is big ticket project, its listed first, so was a bit surprised with that actually. I can screencap the page.
