Islamic Republic of Pakistan : News, Discussions & Updates

Pakistan ISI heard the chat between Abhi and His wife. His wife is a retd Sqn. Ldr. From IAF and she asked him to bring a bag of that tea. Infect she even asked him while he was in captivity if the tea was better than what she prepared for him? Pakistan should have realised at that time what kind of resolve we Indians have and how we are supported by our families in the job we do.

Hindi is more crude language where profanities are thrown often as figure of speech as compared to urdu which stress on soft speech and mutual respect. It's just that we have more space for straight talk while urdu is like fulfilling formalities.

We don't have luckhnavi adab and sharam in our vocabulary, shero-shayari sophistication. We don't reply with "aap" but "tu" or "tum". Harayanavi dialect takes Hindi even one step further in "rudeness", if you will.

That's coz Urdu was always the zubaan of kothas, sher o shayri, etc . It has decadence literally oozing from every word of it. It's the language of the effete & effeminate.

Ladnay ka maza hindi gaaliyon say hee aata hai. Imagine using english words while fighting?

There are seldom any pilots who have experienced crash that too two times, fighter or normal. As a passenger if there is slight turbulence on board logo ki hawa tight ho jati hai thode se mein hi. :p
Now days there is new controvery that pilots forced to use flap 3 for all landing or go around if no gear down at 800ft ? So you would care less I guess about that because you would be flying manual
There seems to be another passenger aircraft crash landing in Balochistan 2 days back, somewhere around Gwadar. Didn't hear news though.

I had no idea Pakistan had such ambitions
If you're a reading guy, read up on the masterly Creating A New Medina by Venkat Dhulipala. Jinnah envisaged Pakistan as the new Turkey - a beacon for the entire Muslim ummah. All said & done, it certainly proves that Jinnah wasn't a dour bitter grouch as everybody around him leave alone the Indians or Brits claimed but that he had a very good sense of humor

Brilliant work done by pilot. Landed safely without any major damage.

Peshawar, Jul 28 (PTI) Police in northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday conducted a raid on a suspected militant hideout, resulting in a firefight in which five anti-terrorism commandos and two civilians were killed

The incident took place in Chilas, a city of Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan

According to Gilgit-Baltistan police spokesperson Mubarak Jan, the operation was carried out after the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) received information about at presence of the militants at a house in Ronai area of Chilas.

?Five CTD officials were killed and as many injured during the operation. Two civilians were also killed in the shootout,? the spokesperson said in a statement.

However, it did not give any details about the militants who opened fire on the police team.

?Police cordoned off the area after the incident,? he said.

Residents of Ronai village held a demonstration and blocked the main Chilas Road to protest against the killing of two civilians.

They alleged that the police and CTD had raided a house on ?wrong information'.

Senior police officials reached there to persuade them to end the protest. They assured them that the killers would soon be apprehended.

I follow some pakistani journalists on twitter, my feed has been particularly toxic recently. Posting some of these:
Apparently, abduction of journalists by the state/army is very common in pakistan, even in big cities.

Welcome to naya Paxtan.

P. S - if you follow the handle of John Austin, not a day goes by w/o a member of the minority community's being kidnapped, converted, forcibly married, raped, assaulted, have their properties forcibly occupied or burnt down or lastly accused of blasphemy.

I've a good mind to create a separate thread to catalogue all his tweets diligently so as to serve as a reminder for why do we need the CAA.

Something is happening.
Egyptian air force had their 9th cargo plane flight to Pakistan this month.
That's very unusual and nobody is sure why.
Guess is the Mirage Horus being shifted to Pakistan.

India appointed Pak lawyer for Kulbhushan Jadhav, was declined case documents
Highlighting the "farcical nature of Pakistan’s approach" in Kulbhushan Jadhav review and reconsideration case, India on Thursday said that it had appointed a Pakistani lawyer for the case but Islamabad declined to give required case documents.

The Minister of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Anurag Shrivastava, in response to a question on India's stance on the case, said, "India appointed a Pakistani lawyer to obtain the relevant documents. To our surprise, as advised by the Pakistani authorities, when the authorised Pakistani lawyer approached the concerned authorities, they declined to hand over the documents to the lawyer."

Islamabad in May had come with an Ordinance for review and reconsideration of Jadhav case to implement the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) judgement last year in which India got a major diplomatic victory. Under the Ordinance, a review petition can be filed in the case within two months.

India was keen to file a review petition and had "repeatedly requested Pakistan for relevant documents". Islamabad had advised India that the relevant documents could be handed over only to an "authorised Pakistani lawyer."

India tried to file a petition on July 18, days before the Ordinance was to lapse but India's Pakistani lawyer was "informed that a review petition could not be filed in the absence of power of attorney and supporting documents" related to the case.

Calling the developments as a violation of the judgment of ICJ, but also of its own Ordinance, the MEA spokesman said, "Pakistan has completely failed to provide the remedy as directed by the ICJ and India reserves its position in the matter, including its rights to avail of further remedies" and New Delhi sees Ordinance as "Pakistan's non-serious in its approach" blocking "all the avenues for an effective remedy available for India."

India had shared its "concerns" regarding the Ordinance "including a considerable delay in informing India about its promulgation, with the Pakistan authorities." According to MEA, Pakistan took two weeks about the Ordinance and shared the copy of the Ordinance only after India requested for it.

Last week Indian diplomats were invited for consular access for Jhadav and get but the "arrangements did not permit a free conversation" according to the ministry of external affairs statement of the same week. The 2 Indian diplomats also could not get his written consent for arranging his legal representation also. India has so far requested consular access twelve times over the past year.

The Pakistan government under the Ordinance first claimed Jhadav has refused to file a petition, then, on Wednesday filed a petition in Islamabad high court requesting the court to appoint a lawyer for the case.

The six-page petition said, "It is therefore prayed that in order to facilitate compliance with the Judgment of the International court of justice ICJ, this hon'ble court may be pleased to appoint any suitable advocate practising before this court to file a petition for review and reconsideration of the conviction & sentence" of Kulbhushan under the ordinance.

The ICJ, in response to a WION question whether the Indian or Pakistani government has approached it on the 2019 Judgement, said, "Judgment of the Court, which is binding, final and without appeal".

Speculations are being made that India might go to the UN court back after non-implementation of 2019 judgement by Pakistan.

While India says Jadhav, an Indian National, was abducted from Iran, Pakistan claims he is a spy. He was sentenced Pakistani military court in 2017 with India going to ICJ and able to get a stay on the order.

Another round of farce starts.

Possible.

But not much of a concern.
It's actually comical from our viewpoint that they have actually accepted , without proper understanding & dare I say - realisation, that their laws were not aligned with international law & regulations, especially on consular relations etc, hence forced to take knee jerk actions like promulgation and new law creation.

However it's another thing that and an Indian has to bear the brunt for Pakistani state callousness.
