Islamic Republic of Pakistan : News, Discussions & Updates

Why so??
Balochs wants their " Fair share " ....if they can get that after Implementing CPEC.....They will back down.... slowly..

They want the "entire share." And on their terms.

Various Balochi outfits have united under a single command.

This was their first major headline attack.

U.S. bill seeks to sanction Pakistani army chief.

On Monday, U.S. Reps. Joe Wilson and Jimmy Panetta introduced the Pakistan Democracy Act, bipartisan legislation that calls for sanctions on Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Asim Munir and other current or former officials who the bill alleges have suppressed democracy, including through the persecution of political opponents—chief among them imprisoned former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The bill calls for sanctions to be placed on Munir within 180 days of its enactment. (It also stipulates that sanctions can be waived if Pakistan’s democracy is restored or if all political prisoners are released.) Regardless of whether the bill passes, it will unnerve Pakistan’s civilian and military elite. Pakistan’s army chief is considered the country’s most powerful figure, and one who successive U.S. administrations have seen as a critical interlocutor.

The bill also reflects the successful advocacy efforts of pro-Khan Pakistani Americans—efforts that have concerned leaders in Islamabad since a U.S. congressional resolution that decried assaults on democracy in Pakistan passed last year by an overwhelming margin.

People wrongfully attribute these deaths to RAW. There is a struggle b/w various militant groups operating in Pakistan over ideological differences. they are attacking each other. While this is a net positive for us, there is no need to unnecessarily keep attributing these deaths to Indian agencies. This suits Pakistani State narrative that india is an irresponsible power that blatantly assassinates people or indulges in trans-national extra-judicial killings. This weakens our narrative of peaceful rise & increases our obstacles.

Nationalists who cheer for such news & amplify this narrative everywhere are axing our own feet. There is a reason China doesn't do this despite being a $18 trillion economy.

All the arm-chair nationalists need to watch these experts. India is not involved in Pakistan's insurgencies. Their Army is more than enough to oppress their population. Similarly, India is not behind the killings in Pakistan

I didn't attribute it to anyone. I just said one more dead. Frankly I don't care who is doing this. I just want it to continue.

Sir, if you want to be a better person & not gloat, by all means do that.

Let me gloat in peace.

This isnt about being a better person, its to prevent another cycle of proxy violence. We have more than enough divisions in our country. This relative peace achieved with pakistan is good as it helps focus on economic development. Would not be smart to lose it all just for the sake of gloating.

Not gloating about Pakistan prevents proxy violence?!?!

I would argue the only thing that prevents proxy violence in India is having solid deterrence at all levels. Proxy war against India by Pakistan should be countered by proxy war by India against Pakistan.

Which division of this country widens when we gloat about Pakistan?

The relative peace at the Indo-Pak border isn't because of some kind of good will. It is because continued CFV was costing Pakistan disproportionately more both in terms of manpower & resources than it was costing India.

If India is pinning her hopes of economic development on peace with Pakistan, we might as well give it up. Economic development will have to happen despite of a lack of peace with Pakistan.
