Amarnath Yathra??:(:( NSG team is put under J&K police call. That gave me a hope that they are deployed for intelligence based operations rather than any possible hostage situation during Amarnath Yathra.

The basic mandate of NSG was counter terrorism, urban area Close quarter battle and hostage rescue. NSG is best equipped to deal with tangos in Kashmir while RR shud be used to provide cordon only. Direct combat shud be left for NSG.

NSG is fot CT ops in Urban Areas, Hostage rescue to be precise. agreed. but for the larger valley it is not.

Don't take my word for it, Brig V Mahalingam (Retd) Force Commander of NSG says so.

That is why I qualified my statement to say that cordon shud be done by RR and direct fight by NSG. Whether you are in a city or a village, its same when it comes to direct combat. Even during 26/11, Army had only provided cordon, the main job was done by NSG.

RR itself is sufficient and has been deployed for better part of the Insurgency and they have been effective. I would agree with Brig V Mahalingam, their equipment tarining is not fro what RR faces in the Valley.
 
If present NSG force commander had requested Govt to be deployed in valley, I am sure he has new tricks up his sleeve compared to what NSG was under the stated Brig. let us trust the present commanders of NSG.
 
It is my considered opinion that BJP is either shying away from combat or doing a very elaborate false propaganda to hide its true intentions by suddenly bringing ISIS in the game plan.
It could be aploy to fool people of India when Amarnath Yatries are Attacked and killed and divert the attention away fro Pakistan to ISIS to find an excuse for not punishing Pakistan.
OR
It could be a way to create a false narrative to let Pakistan get into the trap and which gives the Govt a legitimate reason to attack Pakistan.

I had told you all about two months back that this time if Amarnath yatris are attacked, Pakistan will cease to exist.
The preparations for 1971 war had started in March 1971 when Indira wanted FM Sam Manekshaw to attack east Pakistan asap.

I hope the later is true. If there is any solution to the Kashmir problem it is in punishing Pakistan. Not sure why it hasn’t happened yet. 2016 surgical strikes gave some hope but nothing serious has happened since. GOI needs to involve IAF now and take out terror camps and other strategic installations.
