Militants kill three policemen on Eid day in south Kashmir
In a string of attacks on Eid day, militants shot dead three policemen in south Kashmir on Wednesday.
Police said an unknown number of militants forced their entry into the house of Inspector Muhammad Ashraf Dar in Larve village in Pulwama district.

"They fired at the officer from close range resulting in his death on the spot," a police officer said.
With this, the number of policemen killed by the militants in south Kashmir on Wednesday rose to three.
Earlier, militants killed a policeman in Zazripora village of Shopian district and then killed another policeman in Louswani village in Pulwama district.
Director General of Police S.P. Vaid said the policemen had ignored the advisory regarding visits to ancestral places without security.
Late in the evening, a former policeman abducted from his home in south Kashmir’s Shopian district last night was set free.
Militants had barged inside the home of Shakoor Ahmad Parray in Kundalan village at around 9:30 pm Tuesday night.
Reports said that Parray was set free by the militants with a bullet injury in his right arm. “He was rushed to Srinagar for treatment,” said a local. Parray is said to have joined the police force after shunning militancy.
Suspected militants abducted a BJP activist Shabir Ahmad Bhat from his native village of Pathan Pulwama late last night. His bullet riddled body was found after a few hours at nearby Rakh Litter village.
While the festival of Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated with religious fervor across the state, the incidents of violence were, however, reported from several areas, including summer capital Srinagar.

Situation in Kashmir is deteriorating right now. If you look at the statistics, lots of police officers are getting killed for the past few months. This is an unacceptable situation. Police officers are getting killed almost every day and government of Kashmir and GOI is failing to resolve this problem. Its 'chaltha hei' attitude all along and nobody seems to give a shit about the deaths of Kashmiri police officers.

When PKK killed two Turkish police officers, Turkey started a medium scale war to hunt the perpetrators. i think its time to go all out on terrorrists and its supporters. Terrorists cannot launch these kind of attacks without gathering accurate intelligence. Its high time to go after the Over ground Workers and through them in a *censored*ing jail for a decade.

What is India doing to perpetrate 4th Generation Warfare in Pakistan in retaliation?

And how is it hurting those directly responsible for the acts in Kashmir - the ISI and PA?

India is in extreme advantageous position to execute a preemptive strike in order to paralyze Pakistan's communications, ammunition depots - conventional and non-conventional, military assets and bases of army, navy and airforce as well as crush the snake's head - the planners of terrorism in ISI and PA. Are we waiting for another winter of '71?

I totally agree to this, attack on police force is the red-line which should be taken extremely seriously. I don't care if cries of human rights go high but at this point, India should payback in kind and start attacking the kith and kins of terrorists. A message is must that you cann't mess with state and get away with it. KPS Gill like handling of situation is in order.

The State must not go after the Kith and Kin, what worked in Punjab will not work in J&K. It is not a one size fits all solution. Also, the state cannot act on vindictive feelings. A sate acts to uphold Law and that's how it should be.

We could have used Tanks, Helos and jets to bomb out civilian areas like Pakistan did in FATA and KPK areas. but that's a vindictive state that doesn't function on law but on Whims of power, and in it it maximizes collateral damage. Entire villages reduced to rubble and town turned into ghost towns. Massive internal displacement. None of it has happened in J&K.

Let me put it in this way, beyond moral argument what real argument you have. BTW, if I were to handle this situation, I will first :-

1. Split J&K into J AND K.
2. Move majority of Kashmiri out of Kashmir and absorbe them in rest of India. Give them jobs and settle them all over India. Out of sight and out of mind.
3. Move in army and ask them to leave none alive among the remaining folks.

No moral argument. That is the obligation of a state to its citizens, that is the Social contract. The targets will be exclusively those who take up arms against the state. It simply upholding the rule of Law. Or acting by establishing a law as such.

1. Having it trifurcated Into Jammu, Kashmir and Laddakh (UT) is an option. Having said that there are limited legal and political provisions in the Constitution and mechanism to carryout the act. Article 370 and 35 A are direct constraints. Supreme Court and the entire Indian Union Political class has to come together to carry this out.
2. We are not Pakistan, neither is the state is totalitarian like China and USSR. Insurgency and its Counter measures have had wreaked enough Havoc in the state.
3. Again, you are advocating murder. We are not like Pakistan and it Murderous Army. People of Jammu and Kashmir are Indan Citizens and not fair game. only those who pick up arms, wage war against the state and take the path of violence are.
.
.
Pakistan Army and Pakistan in general however, IS fair game. and the Indian State has obligation to only its citizens and not to any other. So there are ways to hit the root cause of the issue, and not burn our own country men.

Screw the separatist. remove the security you provide for them, revoke the travel permissions for their families.

Restrict their travel outside Kashmir.

Block the bank accounts for every small red flag that pops up.

we are literally paying millions to keep them active and going. just remove their security cover for a start.

Separate Jammu and Ladakh state .
Let the development of these 2 states change the mind set of people as to what the revocation of article x & y can bring .

Contract has conditions. Waging war against India breaks those conditions.

How long? It has been 70 years and we know that a solution to this situation is not going to come foreward. Meanwhile Jammu and Ladhak are getting penalized for no good reason. About time we give these good people their fair share. Political and Legal hurdle are brick walls. They are meant to be broken.
2. We are not Pakistan, neither is the state is totalitarian like China and USSR. Insurgency and its Counter measures have had wreaked enough Havoc in the state.
Well, for one thing, Kashmir Valley is a warzone. Simple. Low to medium intensity war has been on-going in the region for last 30 years or so. If you keep people in warzone, they will be hurt. Simple option is move them out of warzone by any means. Its a state of ongoing emergency in that region and should be dealt likewise. Sooner the better.
Now anyone who remains in warzone and wages war against the nation is fair game because at that point they are not the citizens but enemy combatant. Countries like Australia and Canada have recently passed terror-laws which can strip people of their citizenship if they take part in terrorism even outside the national boundary. About time India also follows the suit. You kill Indian police force, army, national leaders; you are fair game and if you threaten family of Indian civil and military workers, your family is fair game. There is a reason why in USA no one dares to do this. In past US has been extremely vindictive of anyone acting anti-state.
3. Again, you are advocating murder. We are not like Pakistan and it Murderous Army. People of Jammu and Kashmir are Indan Citizens and not fair game. only those who pick up arms, wage war against the state and take the path of violence are.
Nations at time have to commit muders to keep the nation intact. Those who wage war against nations and those who abet them are no longer citizens. They are enemy combatant.
