Kashmir : Counter Terror Operation Updates and Discussions

'We Support India's Right To Self-Defence' : US Tells Ajit Doval On Pulwama
Saturday, February 16, 2019

US National Security Adviser John Bolton told his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on Friday that America supports India's right to self-defence after the two officials discussed the Pulwama terror attack in which over 44 security personnel were killed.
Mr Bolton telephoned Mr Doval on Friday morning to express his condolences for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and offered the US' full support to India in confronting terrorism.

"I told Ajit Doval today that we support India's right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning... and expressed US' condolences over the terrorist attack," he told PTI.

Mr Bolton said the US has been very clear to Pakistan on ending support to terrorist safe havens.

"We have been very clear on that score... And, we are continuing to be in discussions we are going to have with the Pakistanis," he said.

Earlier, the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked Pakistan to end its support to terrorist safe havens inside the country.

"We stand with #India as it confronts terrorism. Pakistan must not provide safe haven for terrorists to threaten international security," Mr Pompeo said on Twitter.

In a stern message to Pakistan, the White House asked Islamabad to "immediately end" its "support" to all terror groups and not to provide "safe haven" to them, as the US condemned the brutal Pulwama terror attack claimed the lives of at least 40 CRPF soldiers.

Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday that left at least 40 CRPF soldiers dead and five others critically wounded.

"The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late night statement on Thursday.

Navjot Singh Sidhu met with harsh criticism after he spoke about the Pulwama terror attack.
Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, a member of The Kapil Sharma Show, has been asked to leave the popular television comedy talk show following his comments on the Pulwama terror attack. He will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh on the show.

“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana,” a source told indianexpress.com.

he is still a minister in the Punjab Congress govt isnt he? congress still wants to field this guy?

also - he immediately says "terrorists do not have religion or state, cannot blame an entire group for a single persons act" - but hindu terrorism, RSS being a terrorist org are all fine!
the bomber was a Muslim
the guys killed were Hindus

why did the bomber kill the people?
was he denied right of education?
was he denied right of life?
was he denied right to get a job?
was he denied right to vote?

the only reason the bomber killed the security forces - was that he wanted a muslim state. thats it. Kashmir wants independence because they want a Muslim majority rule. if this is not radical islam, what is?

If I may... There is a much finer detail here.

The killer was a Kashmiri. There are muslims in the country and they don't go blowing up forces like he did.
The killed were CRPF service men. And yes, they were his target.

In all this matter is Kashmiri vs Indians and Pakistani are taking this opportunity to inflict maximum damage on us.

BTW, did anyone notice these incidences have started after the recent appoint of a certain Munir in ISI Chief position? First Iran and Now India. As I said before, target the houses of Kashmiri military and intelligence community, their families and these will stop immediately.

He wanted to kill Indian Armed Forces.

was he denied right of education?
From the looks of it, it never mattered to him.

was he denied right of life?
He was a sucide bomber.

was he denied right to get a job?
this point is not even relevant.

was he denied right to vote?

It is hard for any living person to willingly die. So, they must convince themselves of a cause bigger than themselves -- Real or Imagined. In this case. The cause was his imaginary rewards after his deed, re-enforced by trained and experienced brain-washers who showed him a better "future" after death -- lies but convincing lies. As far as spiritual devotion goes, a vast majority of Indian Muslims have a deep sense of spiritual devotion. You don't see them all dying for lies because they know better.

if this is not radical islam, what is?
Yes, this is radical "Islam". We have a term for these people too; We call them Khawariz; spiritually speaking that is.

Though there is more to it. He was systematically radicalized. Partly due to him being in the middle of a practical war-zone; this is what a good portion of Kashmir is right now. We should have evacuated these civilians from Kashmir long back. Leaving dry wood near smoldering bushes causes forest fire.

Remaining was the handy work of Pakistan, ISI and its new chief Munir. BTW the same tactic was used against Iranian soldiers too.

I don't understand why are we so obsessed with convincing China to agree on designating Masood Azhar as a terrorist. We should simply announce he is a terrorist for us. We will go after him and any country that supports him.

Not the same thing, but on a related note, India also wanted to piggyback on the US in Afghanistan without getting its own hands too dirty; and of course India wants the world to declare Pakistan a terrorist state and treat it like one - even though India itself doesn't even pass such a bill, or completely snap ties.

That's just how India is, I guess... India needs to understand that the power dynamics in South Asia and the world, as well as the current geopolitical situation in the world has afforded it a few very big opportunities within rapidly closing windows (highly time sensitive) to be bold, and make certain moves. I really hope it doesn't miss out once again.

Not necessarily related, but an interesting development, given the context.

Iran has probably one of the most unreliable, dumb and stupid leadership. We keep sacrificing a lot for accommodating them and yet those traitors always try to backstab us.

Their only goal is to destroy Israel and USA how will they achieve that is unknown but they are obsessed with it even more than Pakistan obsession with Kashmir.

We can easily benifit over $100B in trade and other fields if we stop siding with them, yet out of our self imposed injury of being unnecessarily independent we side with them and get almost nothing in return, idiots couldn't give a single statement of facts on Kulbhushan abduction.

J&K adminstration withdraws security of 6 separatist leaders

Besides Mirwaiz, the security cover for Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Hashim Qureshi and Shabir Shah has been withdrawn, they said. However, there is no mention of pro-Pakistan separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani in the order.

According to the order, all security and vehicles provided to the separatists will stand withdrawn by Sunday evening. No security forces or cover will be provided, under any pretext, to them or any other separatists. If they have any other facilities provided by the government, they are to be withdrawn forthwith.

Police will review if there are any other separatists who have security or facilities and they will be withdrawn immediately, the officials said.

UNSC Veto.

UNSC Veto.
And what will that achieve? They already have plenty of UN designated terrorists and organization, changes nothing, don't be surprised if they are removed even from grey list of FATF.

They are cashing the Afghan card, they can leverage it very well, combine it with anti Iran admin in US. Many months before I said aid is coming for Pakistan, a lot of it and they got over $25 Billion relief for Afghan collaboration and destabilizing Iran and they are not done yet, few more demands and help against India is demanded else they won't help in both goals.

US, China and Saudia need a water boy who can do the dirty work, don't ask questions and can be whipped if things goes bad. Turkey play the same role in Balkans, therefore they are able to punch above their weight.

Isolating Pakistan is not going to happen, not over terrorism nor over anything, every big power needs slave, who else can fulfill that role of killing and controlling own civilians and serving other masters?

With the UNSC resolution, the next step can be economic sanctions if the Pakistanis fail to follow the resolution. It will further reduce the importance of Pakistan.

This is what I was talking about, totally useless people, lives in their own delusions, dont expect them to help you or do a thing against Pakistan. They are good with training terrorists only, face to face they just can't, not capable.

It’s like watching a gaggle of morons at work.
I feel India might opt for a military move after MBs leaves
