PKS has been remarkably prescient when he's declared time and again that the Kashmiris tend to be subdued every time there's a major conflagration between India & Pakistan. I think apart from not understanding the psyche of the Khwarij Pakistani, we've not understood the psyche of the average Kashmiri too. Their bark is worse than their bite. Which is why everyone from Mehbooba to Omar to Mirwaiz and dead man walking Yasin Malik keep threatening the GoI against rescinding Article 35 A, Article 370, resettlement of KP, regularising the citizenship of migrants in Jammu fleeing partition riots in 1947 , etc Knowing we won't move ahead.
OTOH, Rohingyas in their thousands are settled near the IB in Jammu with the full knowledge and connivance of the GoJ&K, but for all their tall talk this govt has yet to do anything on it.
The sooner we recognize this at an official level the better. Although, I would argue there is some degree of realisation there already.

What's a majority or a minority government got to do with combatting terrorism? I thought it owes more to a nuanced understanding of the malaise and taking corrective measures. Unless band aid is now the synonym for corrective measures coupled with appearances to be maintained.

When the enemy (ISI) has knowledge and proof of the scandals and corruption money of the ruling politicians (Congress - from Nehru to Antonia Maino), these politicians will always maintain a low intensity threat in cahoot with the enemy as it benefits the ruling elites on both sides of the border through deals with the MNC MIC (Agusta, Bofors, ...) and anarchy within to allow loot and siphoning by their gang members (congress party members) of the public money meant for the poor and development of the country.
What difference do you see between the PA+ISI on the other side of the border and the Con-gress on this side. Both have one single agenda, appropriate and steal that belong to the nation.

Here's where we are losing the propaganda war. We should be advertising this from the roof tops. How come "freedom fighters " From a poverty struck region can afford flats worth crores when ordinary Indians and Kashmiris find it difficult to put 2 square meals on the tables for their families?
