In all this melee, we forget that the insurgency is alive only in a few districts in the Kashmir valley whose total population is 7-8 million. Even if we were to consider half of the population to be discontented & disconnected, there's still a silent & not so silent half who provide men to the J&K police, the civil administration, the IA, etc.
The only oxygen they receive is from Pakistan and their dalals in the Hurriyat and their sympathizers in Lutyens Delhi particularly in the MSM but not restricted to it. That's precisely what prompts them to constantly punch above their weight & the GoI being consistent to its reputation constantly punches below its weight.
Pussilanimity and dhimmitude go hand in hand for some. In fact it can be synonymous for them too.
Might I be so bold to recommend Tripura Jail. I mean, for what its worth, we did get rid of Maoist violence in our state. A few nights with the local bike gangs will do the trick. They are criminals, but patriotic ones.
