Quite old, but a cool comparison of cfd data vs actual firing, hoping we see the astra related one soon

100 more LCA case is moving forward

Seville, Spain: The LCA was designed from the ground up to be a replacement for the large MiG series fleet including the MiG-21, MiG 23 and MiG-27 aircraft. With the phasing out of all these aircraft, it is essential that we have adequate numbers of the LCA class aircraft in our inventory. So, apart from the 83 LCA Mark 1A that we have already contracted for, we are moving a case for around 100 more aircraft: Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari to ANI at Airbus aircraft manufacturing facility

From being totally silent on Mk2 at the start of his tenure to announcing 100 more Mk1As ACM VRC has come full circle!

This I did not post yet, but maybe the tendering process is now over , so the actual work might start in a few months. @Rajput Lion
still debating if its entirely for Mk1a or it includes work for Mk2 as well (due to IRST mention). Maybe its what Rajput lion said about pylon mounted IRST to be on mk1a

All USAF/USN fighters(except F-22) sans F-35(internal IRST) have shifted to pod based IRSTs. Modern battlespace is going to be full of all spectrum jamming hence IRST is a must for all modern fighters.

So I just hope my prediction of a IRST pod for MK1A becomes a reality. Thanks bro for posting this info(y)

Scope of work definitely is about Mk1a specific. However it was known Mk2 to certainly have IRST, but nothing was mentioned about mk1/mk1a. Hopefully this is true and its only Mk1a specific.

All seems good fingers crossed

To a question by ANI, Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari says, "We had signed a contract for 83 LCA Mark 1As. What we are looking at is now to supplement that contract with 97 additional aircraft. So, it will bring the total to 180 LCA Mark 1As...We will stop flying the MiG-21 fighter aircraft by 2025 and we will replace the MiG-21 squadron with the LCA Mark 1A. The same proposal is in place...In another month or so, the second squadron will get number-plated and we will follow with the third one sometime next year. The induction of the LCA Mark 1A will fill the gap of these outgoing MiG-21s."

In a major development, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will hand over the first Light Combat Aircraft twin-seater trainer version aircraft to the Indian Air Force in Bengaluru tomorrow. Minister of State for Defence, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, HAL Chairman C.B. Ananthakrishnan to be present on the occasion: Defence officials

We need atleast 500-600 Tejas mk1 and about 400 Tejas mk 2. If we plan to fight a two front war. We need 350 Su-30 mki's and 200 rafales. That's what we need by the end of 2030 atleast

Bollywood comes up with Movie featuring LCA Tejas....😍
Next what Bollywood movie Top Gun featuring TEDBF on INS Vikrant.... 😜
