Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

The current disposition of south block is : Talk to China but move some stuff... look busy... look active.

Actually if you're referring to Tibet exclusively, you're already not adhering to the 1 China policy. After all Taiwan isn't the only exclusive component of a 1 China policy. Both Tibet & Xinjiang too are parts of that same policy.

Secondly, if you're prepared to question the 1 China policy make sure you're prepared to get into a war with the Chinese too. Don't get into it otherwise. The shoddy example of Nehru's Forward policy is before you. Let's not repeat such foolishness again.

first rejecting one nation policy i dont think it will trigger a war, becoz in size wise both armies are in equal size when comes to all out war in different fronts the tables may turn in to our favor, also if a all out war broken out they external help India getting from different countries ( materialistic help ) will be far more than what China get, in eyes of other nations china is considered as bully even any possibility to contain china wont be turn down form NATO and american side

Devil knows folks, but by this time, last year, Pakistan had responded and shot down one of our Migs and were parading the debris and pilot. And here we are...
its different story what Pakistan done was a failed strike and got lucky a mig21 fall on their side, but LAC mass murder is another one it have to be responded in different way, i hope government must know these and they already on to something keeping quit not an option now.

Lemme put it in this way, if one is scared of snake's hiss then one should not tempt the fate with bite.

The strike failed AFTER it was carried out. Ours have failed even before.

and what about their prized f16 that the same mig shot down? as for parading the pilot, they were forced to release him within 24 hours. Bt then, why let facts get in the way of a good narrative, right?

American intelligence believes 35 Chinese troops died, including one senior officer, a source familiar with that assessment tells U.S. News. The incident took place during a meeting in the mountainous region between the two sides – both of which had agreed to disarm – to determine how the two militaries would safely withdraw their presences from the region.
The meeting grew tense and resulted in a physical confrontation between the troops. According to the assessment, all of the casualties were from the use of batons and knives and from falls from the steep topography, the source says.
According to the U.S. assessment, the Chinese government considers the casualties among their troops as a humiliation for its armed forces and has not confirmed the numbers for fear of emboldening other adversaries, the source says.
The sources who spoke with the Times said 43 Chinese troops died in the fighting.

We need to first think why China is being so aggressive? That's because of our messed up procurement system. First we need to fix that, when our military is strong, everything else will fall into place.

No, I don't believe that's the issue. Although our procurement can improve, the Chinese themselves are not prepared to fight India, especially given their almost non-existent air force infrastructure. If they lose control of the air, they will have a very difficult time on the ground. So, in that sense, India has military superiority in the border regions, as long as we fight China alone. And we have the ability to push China out of all the occupied territories and also defend it.

But what we will face in return is a massive outflux of money, and that's something we can't really afford with our current economic heft. So, we most definitely need to get richer and less dependent on foreign sources of funding before we can take up war as an option.

The govt has to weigh its options carefully, especially with our current economic situation along with the virus pandemic.

In case we do go to war, we will receive American and Japanese financial aid though. Hell, I won't be surprised if they end up covering the entire financial cost of any limited war with China.

Indeed. But it was a response. Whatever kind of, it was a response. Better than nothing.

In my most humble opinion, the investment that has already come in cann't leave. No new investment is coming in hurry. The world is going in a recession for an year atleast because of depressed demand. That is not the time of any new money in investment. Lastly, hot money in the country is not massive.
Damage control is on.

Thats GOI attitude too.. procure some bombs.. make the Navy sail around.. send some army trucks to ladakh.. until the news cycle changes.. then, create some Lal aankh fiction.. which does not offend chinese ego too much

That's just a temporary situation. The economic impact of any war will play out over a longer period.
