India Captures Chinese Side of Pangong Lake – Region Controlled by China Since 1962: sources

June 17, 2020

In a fresh twist to ongoing India-China skirmishes, unconfirmed sources have asserted that India has now captured the Chinese side of Pangong Lake – a region that was taken under China’s control post the 1962 Indo-China war.
It is to be noted that the India-China stand-off recently took violent turns as the Chinese side killed 20 soldiers, in retaliation, India killed 35+ of its Chinese counterpart. This is for the first time in 45 years when confrontations have gone violent.
Both India and China had productive talks 10 days ago when China asserted they’re ‘disengaging’ their troops from the Indian territory. The provocation comes as a surprise to the Indian side who were not expecting the skirmishes to go violent.
According to PTI, A sizeable number of Chinese Army personnel transgressed into the Indian side of the de-facto border in several areas including Pangong Tso.
But the two sides appeared headed to an agreement after senior commanders of the two armies met on 6 June and agreed on a process for such de-escalation. Ground commanders had been holding meetings since then.
The external ministry said New Delhi had expected that this process of de-escalation would unfold smoothly. But the Chinese side departed from the consensus to respect the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Galwan Valley.

As of now, this is fake news. It is not confirmed by anyone from the Indian side. Please wait for official confirmations.

Why are we responding when we have already killed more Chinese?

Recover lost land?
Avenge CO? News is their CO also killed
Or did we suffer more?

U know veterans at our forum haven't confirmed their loss.
In fact 2 are in line with less loss on their side.
So that they remember & think before doing this kind of harakiri in future.

I said, ponder over these points.

And I would request you to read the Dhola incident of 1962 too. Interesting insight.

Sir when all this was planned in Lhasa HQ ,Tibet military region were the intel guys sleeping? Till then no one raises the red flags until the sovereignty is breached?

The criteria of selection is so tough, to get caught with pants down?

Kargil was in same pattern, Doklam was also similar. You people never have right information on adversary!

That is still internal politics. The loss of face for china as a nation will be too detrimental for its perception by other nations. It may well start a domino effect.
I doubt Chinese will resort to cutting their nose to spite the face. (or what ever the hell this saying is)

It depends on whether they think the end result is worth escalating.

India may well make them risk it. Its war not a one sided love affair.

That's only in case of a war. We can have a short skirmish even without bringing in the air force or navy.

You think India can't take the initiative and invade when and where it deems fit? Or you think we are totally Gandhians with vasudev kutumbakam mentality?

The problem haunting our info warfare is that we apply our non-violent, neutral side to it. We Indians don't have stomach for playing on bad side, us being aggressor and taking out adversary before they do anything. And then cry how Indian troops are martyred.

If Modi loses to Xi then he's weak, if Modi wins over PLA territory then he will be referred as hitler. Both ways, he,and thereby India, get bad press.

We are accommodating and tolerant, that's our biggest weakness.

Both sides are stalling and building capacity. I believe the Indian side also knows that withdrawal and restoration of status quo won't happen. The side that gets confident first about its capability to enforce its claim will do so by force. India will ensure the position of Chinese is vacated. I am certain of it. Its only a matter of how soon.
Well said. Since 1962, IA was never given an option other than talk to chinese unarmed or with weapons at back pointed downwards. Things have changed now. AND IA does not bluff. They do what they claim to be capable of doing. We have seen it in 2016 surgicaL STRIKES. Disbelieve IA at your own cost.

If we start the war now, then we would be playing directly in the hands of US.
We MUST wait for US to get involved first only then we make our move. Time is not on Chinese side we could easily wait. And if all of this doesn't turn into a shooting war then too we would be the biggest winner.
Only thing that I was fearing in all this scenario has come out to be true after all. I am sure every member here must have heard the deafening silence of US. Not a word of support. Compare it to their lip servicing during the start of crisis. They know now we have been committed and now they want to deal..............

That is good tbh, we don't have to be dependent on others to ensure our safety, we should be capable of handling that on our own.
And makes the final victory that much more sweet. Usa will benefit from weapons sale, that's pretty much it. I don't expect them to fight our war. Also, another fact, when we engage the Chinese, Pak will open another front. How we react to that will decide the course of this conflict.

Sawasthbhum shaktin advitiya. Whole of Aksai chin or nothing. IN is doing warloading. All PLAN ships tracked and in cross hair including their subs of allkind. Pakistan please stay away. USN and IN with allothers working together. PLAN will be hit in SCS also without mercy.

It is not about dependence. It is about markers. If a war starts and US helps us in it then it will get a mark which it could later recall. What would be the circumstances is anybody's guess.

From yesterday I have been feeling hopeless at this Govt. First time I voted since I got my voting rights and put my trust in the nationalist plank of BJP. But the deafening, disheartening silence or "restraint" even after our veers were killed has been eating me.

Will we really be doing something? Not just diplomatic charcha and boycott, something to break their noses and their chelas prodding us these days? Or are we seeing more "restraint"?

I think more escalation will occur.

Discuss idea or put facts rather than showing raw feelings of patriotism

A child is born in 1950 in a very poor family. His father sold tea and mother washed dishes in the house of rich. That child grows up with a dream to be a soldier in Indian Army but due to poverty, ends up serving tea to soldiers. He grows up and joins RSS only to become our most respected PM.
Can anyone here tell me one person from India who can replace this man? India's economy has hit south pole, covid19 is hitting north pole. People of India elected most thrid rate people only for freebies to be their leaders and they called them outstanding like the so called cheat of a retd IAS officer in Delhi.
This man born in 1950 works day and night to give guidance to all these cheats who laundered the money of tax payers to be what they are. AND he does not complain. I saw him today in his address to me-an Indian. He seemed tired and exhausted due to his relentless efforts and lack of sleep when he has been put to an axe to test his mettle. Still he goes on.
Oh My lord Shiva, make me like him in my next birth. I bow to him. The baggage of the past like traditions of the family, are hard to beat but he has shown us the way forward. Shiv Shambhu, please give him long life and keep him safe from all ailments. My nation needs him.

I very very extremely seriously think that we should not fight with the bro Chinese as biggest beneficiary will by Americaa.
They are evil and forcing two bro countries to fight each other.
