Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning and F-22 'Raptor' : News & Discussion

Green Demons in Alaska. Mass takeoff of the US Air Force F-35A Lightning II.

Does this mean the US is launching it's Russian campaign from the east ? Well , launching it in the winter would be ideal. That way you have the element of surprise as the Russians haven't been invaded from the east ever since the Mongols undertook their campaign in the late 13th century.

Masterful plan this from the US . Sheer genius !!

Reactions: Bon Plan
Yet nations keep wanting it including India. It's funny seeing the butt hurt the F-35 has cause the french clowns in here.
I just like to watch the excruciating contortions, turning themselves inside out. Deceit and outright lies, are just a part of it. Trying to show a 4.5 gen is as good as a 5th gen. While wanting to build one themselves. Funny to watch.

Frankly I find this habit of basking in reflected glory by the Australians a bit mystifying. They seem to think that every achievement of the US or UK is their own . Hence this constant urge to look for validation to the UK or US.

I mean the notion that any Australian actor or author of worth isn't taken seriously in Australia regardless of the quality of talent unless he / she receives accolades in the US & UK is well known. Hence we've never come across an Aussie intellectual , assuming such an entity exists which is of course debatable . No prizes for guessing why .

For a developed country , it's surprising to see a lack of an indigenous Aussie automotive industry just as it's equally surprising to see it lacks the manufacturing expertise to build a submarine whereas puny Netherlands can do so as also thinly populated Sweden which also has a robust indigenous automotive industry including design expertise .

Why do you suppose that's the case ?

The entire point of AUKUS is for Australia to become states 51 to 56. However, it will be thwarted by the simple fact that it would mean allowing Aussies to vote in US elections, and the Americans will not accept that.

Just like why the entire reason they didn't try to annex all of Mexico, despite their own doctrine of "Manifest Destiny", being that it would mean allowing Mexicans to vote, and they just couldn't bear the thought. True story.

The Collins was suppose to be an ongoing shipyard, with continuous sub building. A change of government and new priority. Subs are expensive and put off. Hence where we are today. those skill sets were lost.

We tend to go for the best platform available. We tend not to run job's programs.
We are doing OK down here.

Paddy would vehemently disagree for reasons that ought to be obvious, isn't it ? @BMD

Given the massive illegal immigration which has been regularized courtesy the Democrats in fits & starts this outdated notion can safely be consigned to the dust bin of history.

I suppose once the Democrats succeed in committing ritual sepukku , the remainder amongst them would join the Republicans in welcoming the 55-61 states into the USA.

Nothing would thrill the Aussie more than to be granted citizenship of the US without moving his butt there .

This notion of punching far above your weight would one day come to bite you in the rear. There's nothing more annoying than a pomeranian among canines.

Besides let's face it , Aussie military history begins with Gallipoli - a military disaster of epic proportions ( which practically derailed Churchill's political carrier till Chamberlain came to his rescue ). What's more Aussies of all hues are encouraged to pay their respects in Gallipoli. It's not exactly the way one goes about building a military tradition.

Now you're getting to build SSNs.

Beats me as to why're you guys determined to sink all these gains by getting involved in other people's fights.

In Many ways I agree with Kevin Rudd's stance of detachment when it comes to the Chinese focussing on building up that impressive chart you've shared though of course it doesn't suit us or the rest of East & SE Asia especially the US of A .

It builds our character. We could boast about the next battle in France. Over the years up to modern times. We do OK if you want to read up.

Congratulations. At least it wasn't on the lines of Gallipoli. So what if it was a tiny unimportant hard to locate on a map village in an insignificant battle .

At least it was in France.

That's important.

Btw How many Victoria Cross awardees does Australia boast of ?
