He's talking about what we talked about.

SH can manage its mission needs & a drone swarm (when it gets it) just fine, but all the same it cannot manage the whole battlespace, nor can it see what's happening behind it or tell the ground forces what to do.

That role will continue to be performed by manned AWACS for the foreseeable future, and unmanned ones in the distant future.

An AWACS is not necessary for everything else if the fighter takes over the combat bit.

The idea behind AWACS is it sees more than anything else. But it if stops seeing more, then all you need is a bunch of people on the ground managing the battlespace for other tasks which does not involve combat. In fact, you can do a better job on the ground, 'cause work is distributed among more people using better hardware than what's possible on an aircraft. Even something as simple as having multiple screens for each officer becomes a possibility.

The role evolves as the technology evolves. SH being a non-VLO aircraft can afford to operate its radar more liberally than a VLO jet. Plus there's still no 360 degree radar surveillance capability on any 4.5 or 5th gen aircraft. For the foreseeable future, AWACS aren't going anywhere.

In the distant future when you have drones capable of flying out to 100k ft or above with ultra-long wavelengths, a single such drone can tell you what's happening over the entire front of the war. None of the in-development 6th gen jets like Tempest/FCAS are capable of those flight envelops. The role evolves as the tech evolves, just like any other system.

Ground-based crew will become a reality when drone AEW becomes reality, but that is a ways off. We already talked about this.

He quite literally says it's the weapons load and variety of weapons that makes it special. I have also literally argued about the same things in the list of the SH's advantages over the Rafale.

IN will go fully USN starting from P-8I to Heloes. Even the all the deck based fightrs will be replaced by F-18SH-3. The kamoves vd IN will also be replaced soon. The Mig-29K fleow by IN will get repalced by F-18 SH-3. The MIg-29Ks vl get transferred to IAF and Boeing is going to fund part of the losses of IN for such change over provided the order is for over 60 aircraft. Its a sourced based info. This will ensure that IN does not have two different aircraft type and IAF vl have all the MIg-29s being flowen in India with all the spares.
It will also make sure that QYAD gets the syrength which It needs and also prove that India is serious abour QUAD which USA is not very sure.

If we have to get 60 F18s, then Tedbf development is also at risk.

If it had to depend on ORCA , good luck getting ORCA out of IAF chief s mouth.

Makes sense to hand over the Mig-29Ks to the IAF. I wonder if the wings will be replaced during MLU though.

Yeah, we are currently talking about 50+ jets.

No, TEDBF won't be at risk. At worst, the initial numbers will stay at 45 jets.

Basically, as the Mig-29Ks are transferred to the IAF, the TEDBF will come in.

Let's not forget that the IN wants at least 100-150 jets in the foreseeable future.
What about the Chances for S80 in p75I( if at ll happened )? Its basically US-Spanish sub.

As long as both S80 and DSME-3000 meet requirements, then both will have a chance, irrespective of political leaning.

If the US is sincere, they would actually offer leasing the Virginia.

What Boeing propose doesnt matters here, they even proposed 60+ Apache for IA & nothing happened. What matters more is what DRDO & HAL propose, they will not let 50+ FA18 SH orders to happen. Personally i feels we need as many as Apache, probably 120+ to take down two fron scenarios.

They aren't France, no bribes either. That isn't going to happen from Boeing or the FMS division. It would have to be a seperate agreement. Like Israel and Eygpt.

Two squadrons will be raised under ENC. After the initial order of 26, expect an additional order of 10-12 airframes.

By the time these 36 will be in service, TEDBF prototypes would be flying.

And considering the availability of R33, we can assume we will have at most 1 carrier available at any time. So 36 will be enough for that.
