Today's caveat being that the Norwegian Army withdrew its combat forces several years ago, and the Norwegian Air Force wasn't stationed in Afghanistan and saw no appreciable defence from its adversaries in-country. Special actions on training missions in the country are ongoing and special forces have often come into contact with hostile forces will support Afghan police units like the Crisis Response Unit 222, which makes a mere 10 casualties all the more shocking.

Even while Norwegian Army forces and force protection teams were still in Afghanistan, and Norwegian Army bases were considered among the least secure, often operating without heavy weapons, 10 casualties since operations began in 2003. Wish every war would go that well.

Old world Viking rituals, symbolism and culture are still very much alive in present day Norway.

Anyone can apply, few are selected. KJK is estimated to have less then 100 current persons assigned to it with the TBS having even fewer. It's possible no one from this group will make the cut and begin Ranger training.

Religion, Religious Rituals and customs are very much a part of Indian Military. Many of our Regiments are formed and named after certain religions, ethnic groups or tribes. The regiment will follow the customs, rituals and practices of that particular ethnic group/religion.

For example, the battle cry of a particular regiment is usually associated with the believes or history of the ethnic/religious group.

Punjab Regiment - Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal (He who cries God is Truth, is Ever Happy) ( For Sikh Battalions)
- Bol Jawala Ma Ki Jai (Victory to Goddess Jawala) (For Dogra Battalions)
Maratha Light Infantry - Bol Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jai (Say Victory To King Shivaji) (after the legendary king of Maratha Empire)
Rajputana Rifles - Raja Ramchandra Ki Jai (Hail Lord Raja Ramachandra)
Rajput Regiment - Bol Bajrang Bali Ki Jai (Victory to Lord Hanuman)
Jat Regiment -Jat Balwan, Jai Bhagwan (The Jat is powerful, Victory to god!)
Sikh Regiment -Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal (Blessed is the one who proclaims the Truth of God)
Sikh Light Infantry -Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal (Blessed is the one who proclaims the Truth of God)
Dogra Regiment -Jwala Mata Ki Jai (Victory to Goddess Jwala)
Garhwal Rifles -Badri Vishal Lal Ki Jai (Victory to the Sons of Lord Badri Nath)
Kumaon Regiment -Kalika Mata Ki Jai (Victory to the Great Goddess Kali)
Bajrang Bali Ki Jai (Victory to Bajrang Bali)
Dada Kishan Ki Jai (Victory to Dada Kishan)
Jai Durge Naga (Hail Durga Naga)

Assam Regiment -Rhino Charge (State of Assam is home to Indian rhinoceros)
Bihar Regiment Jai Bajrang Bali (Victory to Bajrang Bali)
Birsa Munda Ki Jai (Victory to Birsa Munda)
Naga Regiment -Jai Durga Naga (Hail Durga Naga)
Jammu and Kashmir Rifles -(Durga Mata Ki Jai ("Victory to Goddess Durga")
Gorkha regimets -Jai Maha kali, Ayo Gorkhali (Hail goddess Mahakali, The Gorkhas Are Here)

Other regiments usually have Bharat Mata ki Jai (Victory for mother India) as battle cry.

What is the Battle cry of Norwegian military?

Military also have Religious teachers in service. Almost 300 religious teachers passing out from Institute of National Integration (INI) every year. Soldiers of the battalion follow the customs and practices of that battalion/regiment even if they are from different ethnic group/religion.

Some regiments like Gurkhas, Nagas and Kumaon Sacrifies Animals as part of the traditions of their religion/tribe and so and so.

What is the Battle cry of Norwegian military?

For the Norwegian Army it differs for unit to unit. Armored Battalion's battle cry is Bitit fyrst - Strike First. For 2 Battalion the battle cry Under dette tegnet, skal vi seire translates to In this sign, thou shalt conquer. Do Right, Fear None, Gjør rett, frykt ingen, is that or the Norwegian Army Artillery Battalion.

Til Valhall, or to Valhalla as it translates into English, is that of the Norwegian Army's Telemark Battalion. During operations in Afghanistan, Telemark commanders would give speeches to their charges before operations.

You're the predators, you're the hunters, the Taliban is your prey, to valhall.

Telemark Battalion takes its Norse heritage very seriously. From its unit emblem.

TMBN, more then any other unit within the Norwegian Armed Forces, takes inspiration from its Viking heritage. Though when they are summoned to war they're all business.

The neighbors dropping a GBU-49/B on a forest fire near Älvdalen. There's a huge risk if the fire gets any closer since Älvdalen has a military training range that's likely littered with UXOs and hazardous chemicals. Dropping bombs is an attempt to starve the fire of oxygen, as the bomb's explosion creates a temporary vacuum.

Scandinavia as a whole is facing terrible forest fires at the moment.

Seems the US is looking to double the number of Marines stationed in Norway, and extend their stay for an additional five years. Russia is predictably cheesed.
