Pakistan AirForce : Updates & Discussions

PAF has extensive experience with C-130 and no shortage of spares. Likewise all required facilities for repairs and overhaul.
Very good purchase
Skilled manpower of Rockwell Collins oversaw the life extension of PAFs own fleet and the logistics and Spares supply was achieved by a new deal with USA.

PAF on its own can only support the operations of C130. Spares, Repair, Overhaul and Cockpit upgrade are taken up by US based entities.
PS: It's intersting to note that PAF is opting for 50 year old airframes of C130 instead of new Y8/Y9s from China. Co-incides with the low availability and problems with the ZDK03 fleet.

Those were contractual restraints, not necessity.
USA binds users to only perform certain maintenance cycles via their own contractor firms.

Some new variant of Z-10 gunship will be inducted in Pakistan army aviation by early 2023.
China had sent multiple samples of Z-10 to Pakistan and they all failed.
But chinese did make Pakistan specific changes, and now it has met Pakistan army requirements.
No idea what those specific changes are.
Same as no idea how J-10cp is different from standard export variant J-10ce

This is a more or less ad-hoc solution given that Cobra fleet is almost at its service end and Viper , T129 ATAK programs have halted and Mi35 even though effective to an extent is not really a modern system.

More to do with strings attached.
Americans and Russians sell weapons to us then bar us from using those weapons against India 😅
The stupids want us to use multi million dollar war machines on mud huts and military parades only, and not in actual war.

Upgrade engine, strengthen protection, upgrade WZ-9 power from 957KW to 1200KW

China Maal with Russian engine deadly combination... 😂😂🤣🤣
The FADEC in our RD33 fails in minutes. Atleast this was the case in 2012-13. But becoz Mig29s are twins, so it was not an issue. And in case of total failure or critical issue in one engine, the Mig29s have been known to return base on the other one.

This is very well known.

Now imagine flying with just 1 engine.

If you are not seeing a JF17 crash every 2nd month, it means they are flying less than 50 hours a year.

They have 100+ jf17 as on today, its really a thrrat. Mere 36 Rafale cannot do a mirror deployment again Pakistan.
The Mig21 Bison as of today is more capable than JF 17 Block 3.

The 90s kyopo radar is still more accurate and effective than the air cooled AESA they claim they have in the block 3.

And with the coming of Tejas Mk1A let's see what they do.

Everything comes down to operational availability. They will need 100 JF17 to replicate what a single Tejas MK1A squadron will be able to do over a year.
