The flight could be continued mainly because of the FCS (Fligh Control System):Wow. Imagine the cockpit noise the plane was making telling the pilot it's hurting. Superior flying by pilots to land these damage fighters especially the first pic.
An IAF pilot has done similar thing with F15, the aircraft was pretty bad condition than this, no wonder why everyone is accepting that IAF (israel) pilots are the best in world. The flight could be continued mainly because of the FCS (Fligh Control System):
The aircraft's control surfaces are operated by a dual hydraulic system under 350 bar (5000 psi). The actuators are themselves controlled by fibre-optic flight controls, "fly-by-light", as opposed to the traditional "fly-by-wire" (implying electrical wiring), the whole being entirely digitised. The Rafale is the first fighter aircraft in the world to use optical flight controls (CDVO), which are insensitive to nuclear radiation. The AGC (Active Generalized Control) operates on three digital channels, plus a backup analog channel, which can be activated automatically or on demand (insensitive to possible jamming, but less efficient). It should also be noted that these four channels are totally independent, thus blocking any software anomaly with catastrophic repercussions. The system allows, among other things, to manage the moderately negative longitudinal stability of the aircraft, to introduce an "auto-trim", to adapt the sensitivity of the controls according to the phase of flight, thanks to its integration, to use a very sophisticated autopilot, and in the event of damage to the control surfaces, to automatically reconfigure itself in order to preserve as much as possible the flight qualities of the aircraft.
So getting kicked out of Eurofighter program , worked brilliantly for France. The flight could be continued mainly because of the FCS (Fligh Control System):

It is a war machine, not a tourist plane, it must be able to take combat damage and still fight. So getting kicked out of Eurofighter program , worked brilliantly for France.
Impressed after seeing the damage to the canard, and the plane still landed safely.

They had more or less the same trajectory, so their relative speed was low.For aircraft operating at those speeds, the damage looks very minor.
Germans are a burden in any joint development venture. Ngf might end up being a failure because of Germany. Either that or Germany might end up dropping the ngf soonSo getting kicked out of Eurofighter program , worked brilliantly for France.

The radio recordings seem to indicate that there was a loss of visual contact before the accident. The TVCs wouldn't have done anything, I wonder if he didn't catch the other's canard with the front of the missile launcher while making a break to the right to regain distance. The local stress would have dislocated the salmon (and bent the canard), but I don't think it was enough to damage the wing fittings when the much softer missile launcher attachments didn't break.Even clipping each other at 50 knots would see significant amount of damage, that's like two cars clipping each other at 180 Kmph and that's the slowest speed for the Rafale.
TVC would have saved them.
