Tu-142 is obsolete. Just like the Tu-22 offered earlier. We need the Blackjack. If IAF is wise, they should go for a bomber or at least tgey should get TU142 airframe from IN & converts it to a bomber.

Actually, it speaks of very poor SOPs. In IAF & IN, we follow an SOP which requires the weapon firing circuit CB-circuit breaker, to be out always and master switch off. This is to prevent such incidents. For Guns only fight, we switch on the master switch and than unlock the trigger as the gun camera is activated by the gun trigger. By keeping the CB out, the firing circuit to the gun remains inactive but the circuit for the camera comes alive.I shouldn't laugh, but it's impossible not to. I remember a control tower accidentally got strafed in a NATO exercise once.
That's the way it is on NATO planes too, but I guess someone f'ed up. The ground safe on an A-10 is covered by a catch, if you lift it up and take the brakes off you can then engage reverse gear.Actually, it speaks of very poor SOPs. One of the first images of a Russian Su-35 test firing a R-37M VLRAAM. This gives the Su-35 a capability to engage targets in excess of 200 km (conservative assessment). The hypersonic speed of the R-37M gives it a good NEZ, especially intercepting AWACS/ FRA class targets at LR pic.twitter.com/9DXwPgMFqK

Or for that matter, it may be a brief glimpse of a forward swept mid wing design, which due distorted photo quality appears as a ramjet intake. Time will reveal more ...

"Whereas 99% of Russian armour in 2007 was classified as “legacy”—ie, introduced into service more than three decades ago—today fully 27% is modern, according to @IISS_org. Russian warplanes have gone from being 97% legacy to being 71% modern in that time" https://t.co/W6tvb1BbSD pic.twitter.com/nbzle8pnk3

Slightly longer and a bit beefier. A much clear image of the Russian R-77-1 BVR. Safe to assume that it will equip most Russian aircraft across the world sooner than later.. https://t.co/SxzD7oot6E
