I consider them reliable.
Yeah, the Mig-29 is expected to get the Uttam. Both IAF and IN jets.
I consider them reliable.
Su30MKI will serve us for its full 40-45 years. So it would be unwise to do so.Instead money would used for more Rafales?
Or simply cancellation of upgrade.?
It's simply not a technological upgrade when you consider MKI upgrades. When they head off to battle, you are protecting the lives of these valuable pilots of MKI.Instead money would used for more Rafales?
Or simply cancellation of upgrade.?
Give MKI, an early retirement and go for F15EX. If wants we can keep some newly inducted MKI & Brahmos capable ones. I feel F15EX will give us an edge over any su30 copies of China, US military support will be an icing on top.Su30MKI will serve us for its full 40-45 years. So it would be unwise to do so.
Rafale (MMRCA ) - LCA MK2 and Su30MKI upgrade, all 3 seperate are important. One cannot replace other. We need to understand it.
That ll take a decade to get it accomplished.Give MKI, an early retirement and go for F15EX. If wants we can keep some newly inducted MKI & Brahmos capable ones. I feel F15EX will give us an edge over any su30 copies of China, US military support will be an icing on top.
Maybe F-35. India really needs a stealth fighter to counter chicoms the CATSAA waiver just may have opened the door for the F-35.That ll take a decade to get it accomplished.
By then our Mk2, Amca & evev TEDBF would be flying.
What a colossal loss of money on duplicating the capabilities..
Since USA waived India from CATSAA, one could expect some deals come through..
My guess Is F18.
We are unable to replenish lost Mig21,23 and 27 squadrons, currently have no means to replenish the soon to be retired Darin 2 squadrons and the replacement of Darin 3, M2000 and Mig29 depends on the future almost 7-8 years away.Give MKI, an early retirement and go for F15EX. If wants we can keep some newly inducted MKI & Brahmos capable ones. I feel F15EX will give us an edge over any su30 copies of China, US military support will be an icing on top.
We can't even add indigenous sensors on jets we manufactured, what's benefit of making them in our backyard in higher cost. Indigenous AESA to be installed on MKIs looks nowhere near ready, only EW suite and LRUs can be replaced, this package offered by HAL is very small will cost more money keep 85 MKIs in hanger. Let HAL wait for couple of years before they can bring something concrete, so that upgrading 85 MKIs won't be an expensive affair.

The flanker upgrade is a necessity. It will remain the backbone of our air force for until the 2030's. With or without f-15EX the flankers are too valuable.Give MKI, an early retirement and go for F15EX. If wants we can keep some newly inducted MKI & Brahmos capable ones. The f-35 maybe bought but only after blk 4 upgrade I feel and at best would be a small order of 12-24 AC's unless we go for the su-57 if the item 30 goes online.Maybe F-35. India really needs a stealth fighter to counter chicoms the CATSAA waiver just may have opened the door for the F-35.
What about the S400 country shouldnt have F35 argument that you guys were selling?Maybe F-35. India really needs a stealth fighter to counter chicoms the CATSAA waiver just may have opened the door for the F-35.
If F35 is not available to UAE, Saudi etc., can these be potential markets for the AMCA? Who would be the potential competitors of AMCA in these markets? You may aswell talk about buying JF17 before an F35 offer officially comes. You guys need to see the list of countries F35 has been offered. All are traditional western allies. Allies for which USA will take up a fight.
There's a reason why no F35 for UAE or Saudia.
Allies who will everyday choose USA over any other nation and an attack on USA will be an attack on them.
2035 is some time away. Don't plan for export of something that far away in future. You don't know if these markets will survive in the current form.If F35 is not available to UAE, Saudi etc., can these be potential markets for the AMCA? Who would be the potential competitors of AMCA in these markets?
