Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Western sanctions do not work: the ruble has almost fully recovered after the start of the special operation - Global Times

The rapid recovery of the Russian ruble shows that the West has overestimated its capabilities, the newspaper writes.

By design, the sanctions were designed to hurt the Russian economy and anger Russians by provoking them to criticize the government and thus force Moscow to change course.

However, the "hyperinflation" that the United States and its allies hoped for so much did not happen in Russia. The publication adds that the luxury goods that have been banned from selling some brands to Russia, as well as Western fast food chains, do not seem to be so necessary for Russians.

The Russian economy and currency is currently fudged, like the Chinese one only worse. I'll see if I can find the video explaining it.

Basically he can sell foreign reserves to stabilise his currency but he can only do that for so long, plus interest rates went to over 20%.

More videos with surrendered soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time from the Zaporozhye region.

RF and DPR Armed Forces broke through the Bandera defense line near Bakhmut:

But anyone who tries to buy foreign currency online at a bank or, illegally, at a foreign exchange booth, or who buys goods and services online denominated in foreign currencies will find the actual rate considerably worse.

And the ruble's buying power has been sharply eroded as companies hike prices for goods, especially ones produced outside Russia whose future supply is in doubt due to the sanctions.

"I used to buy cans of Dutch-made baby formula for 2,500 rubles before Feb. 24," said Marina, a Moscow resident, with her newborn baby. "Now the same can costs 4,500 rubles while boxes of kasha (a porridge-based drink for children) have gone up to 100 from 64 rubles for a 500-ml box."

Since Feb. 24, food prices have soared, taking the year-to-date increase in prices for cabbage and carrots to 85% and 54%, respectively, according to statistics service Rosstat.

Prices of imported goods jumped even higher, with prices for some foreign-made cars more than doubling.

Captured Ukrainian soldier gave valuable information about the strength, deployment and weapons of the enemy.

Russia tried to blame Ukraine for attacking its own citizens. Russian Telegram channel Siloviki prematurely published information that Russians are “working on a cluster of armed forces of Ukraine at Kramatorsk railway station” and celebrated casualties among Ukrainian combatants. A few minutes after the initial post, they edited it, presumably after reports of civilian casualties proliferated. In the edited post, they said that when the Kramatorsk railway station was hit, “It was possibly a Tochka-U [missile] that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use.” Both posts were subsequently deleted, but the original post and the edited message were archived as a forwarded message on another pro-Kremlin channel. Another pro-Kremlin Telegram channel, Veteran Notes, published an ominous message on the evening of April 7, suggesting people who evacuate from Kramatorsk and Sloviansk not use railway transport.

Kremlin-owned mainstream media picked up the narrative and continued claiming Ukraine had attacked its own civilians, insisting that Russia does not use the Tochka-U missile system. While it might not be on official lists of Russian equipment, researchers previously spotted footage of Tochka-U systems being deployed in Belarus over the course of March, disproving Russia’s claims of not using them.

Another captured armored personnel carrier taken by Russian troops in Kamenka, Kharkiv region:

The Armed Forces showed the Russian "Point-U" shot down near Chernihiv

Fighters of the Armed Forces showed the downed missile "Point-U", which was launched from Belarus and shot down near Chernihiv. This dispels the myths of Russian propaganda about the non-use of this class of missiles against Ukraine.

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry

The Kiev regime has not abandoned its attempts to evacuate the leaders of Azov nationalist regiment and foreign mercenaries from Mariupol. Previous actions to evacuate them by helicopter have failed.

On the evening of April 8, the Kiev regime made another unsuccessful attempt to evacuate the Ukrainian Nazi leaders by sea.

The Ukrainian Apache, a Maltese-flagged dry-cargo ship assigned to the Maltese port of Valetta, was sailing in a caravan of ships from the Gulf of Taganrog to the Kerch Strait in the nighttime.

At 22:38 Moscow time, 30 km southeast of Mariupol, the dry-cargo ship suddenly changed its course and attempted to break through to the Mariupol seaport blocked from the sea by the Black Sea Fleet.

The Ukrainian dry-cargo ship did not respond to Russian border guards' demands to contact them through the international channel and continued heading in the direction of Mariupol port.

Warning artillery firing by two border patrol ships along the vessel's course did not cause the dry cargo ship to change course or slow down.

While heading towards Mariupol port, the ship was engaged in radio communication, transmitting the messages "I am 'Maniac', coming for you". At the same time, signal fires were observed on the shore.

To block the movement of the intruder vessel, from 22.53 to 23.30, the Black Sea Fleet and the border patrol ships opened artillery fire on the Apache dry-cargo ship.

A direct hit caused a fire in the stern of the ship.

The Ukrainian dry-cargo ship then went adrift, the crew got in touch with the border ships with a request to cease fire and confirmed their readiness to comply with all the demands of the Russian sailors.

No crew members on the ship were injured as a result of the firing. The fire was extinguished by the ship's crew themselves.

After being inspected, the Ukrainian Apache and its crew are convoyed to the Yeysk port.

That poor soul is trying really hard I'll give him that. You can't really blame him he's a product of Indian media where they fill Russian fanboys like him with a lot of fantasy... Just like the fantasy that somehow a IAF mig-21 magically managed to shoot down a PAF F-16 nanoseconds before getting shot down itself without leaving any kind of evidence except the ones in their head. That mig-21 archer missile must of had a kiloton warhead cause nothing was left of the imaginary PAF F-16.

Yuss. Just like Americans bought the argument by W that Iraq was in possession of WMDs with Colin Powell making the argument before the UN . In their desperation they also linked SH to Bin Laden . Meanwhile sections of the Saudi elite who were neck deep into the 9/11 conspiracy still walk around scot free with some of them visiting the US either regularly or occasionally apart from transacting business there & owning properties in all probability.

P S - I don't intend bringing up Gen Hostage & his theories on you know what .
