Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Paddy here blew his top a year ago defending BoJo's Home Secretary's decision to rescind Shamima Begum's citizenship. When I called out racism on account of the fact that such a step hadn't even been contemplated during the height of IRA's terrorism campaign in UK across the 70's & 80's Paddy went blue in his face obfuscating, denying, deflecting & justifying an unjust stance which apart from being ethically & morally reprehensible was against the law of the land in letter & spirit.

Well, here's a surprise! @BMD

The RuAF isn't around protecting the ground forces for whatever reason.
Likely mission capable rate. It's likely they are saving them for a NATO conflict. They likely actually believe there's going to be some sort of confrontation.

Good way for Poland to get rid of its Mig-29 fleet and have the EU replace them with F-35's.

Definitely an escalation by Europe lets see how Vlad the Mad responds.

Russia is apparently at the US-equivalent DEFCON 2. Which means the readiness level is at at the highest before pushing the red button.

If you think Ukraine has enough pilots to man those aircraft, I'd like to know what you've been snorting apart from baby milk powder in your mom's basement.

This could only mean NATO is surreptitiously trying to inveigle itself into the war.

Well now you know why Putin mobilised his N arsenal, something you were labelling a panic reaction earlier citing it as a fallout of Russia's failed invasion.

Now you've only confirmed what people here suspected. If Ukraine was indeed successful in thwarting the invasion, why'd there be the need to supply them with fighters especially when the RuAF has hardly made it's presence felt.

The price of the SU-35 has just been halved

Since the start of the fall, 171/35 = 4.88 times.

Since the middle of the fall, 171/65 = 2.63 times

And it also means 1 Yasen class sub now costs $350M. 1 Gorshkov class frigate costs $150M. An Improved Kilo costs $140M. And 1 Su-57 costs $15M. 1 T-90 tank costs $700K. 1 BMP-3 costs $350K. Iran's military chiefs will be absolutely gleeful if it stays this way.

Russia needed oil to be at $44 per barrel to balance their budget. Now it can be $17.

Domestic automobiles and electrical systems will become extremely competitive in the international market.

Otoh, electronic devices will be as expensive as small cars.

If the United States wants to save Ukraine, it will directly send an SBCT to western Ukraine, so that at least the west bank of the Dnieper can be saved,
If the U.S. wants to get Russia to the last drop of blood, then it'd better provide a batch of Javelin and Stinger missiles as soon as possible
This simple ATGM is more effective than any aircraft tank
The time window is still closing, and the Russian troops deployed in the Brest region may go south at any time to capture Lviv, then the border will be blocked, and we will see the confrontation between NATO and the Russian armored forces again.

...and its pilots.

The questions that Russians need to ask themselves is that
Were they really fully prepared
For this war -- Both economically
And militarily

If they have to finally use Nukes , they could have allowed Ukraine to join NATO and Then Nuke it

Now they are looking like Losers

For now it's just posturing.

That's not how it works. You know what it takes to reach that level? That means moving/dispersing your strategic forces around like mobile launchers and getting bombers on alert status getting important people moved all that is easily detected by US STRATCOM and other US intel agencies including European ones. If Russia was equivalent to DEFCON-2 Biden would be airborne and STRATCOM aircraft.

Here in San Diego Naval ships would be making a Beeline out of the bay right now.
