The United States wants a space shield project in Europe, the Missile Defense, a national project later extended to its allies. When fully implemented, it will consist of warning satellites, a chain of ground-based radars (missile warning and tracking) and interceptors deployed on the ground, at sea and in space, to attack enemy missiles in the various phases of their trajectory. The interceptors would be deployed in Central Europe: Poland, the Czech Republic and if Ukraine joins Nato they will also be a prime location for these missiles.
The problem is that the interceptors can also be loaded with nuclear warheads and used to attack Russia, which explains my comparison with Cuba.
