Ukraine - Russia Conflict

You've said that so many times. Do you not ever tire of being wrong? The fact is, Russia is desperate, they've been so long without any victory that they need something, anything to try sell the war. They've lost 4 cities since they started trying to take this one. Am I wrong? Kharkiv, Izium, Lyman, Kherson. And they've lost several city's worth of soldiers trying to take it too.

They're treated the same as any other applicant from the third world.... providing red flags don't turn up.

The cities they have lost were not as important as their "core" objective of freeing Donbas first.

Regaining those cities depends on when the Russians finally decide to actually fight.

The Russian asylum-seekers aren't being treated well.

For Russia it is expensive, because it's on its own and has a generally poor economy.

Their PPP deflator is 3 times more than in Europe. There's nothing poor about their economy, Russia is almost an advanced economy, probably just 10 years away.

Europe is already well enough armed to take on Russia, the increases in defence spending that have already happened will further emphasise that. The Russian military is an exhibition military, it seems impressive in crowd displays but here is the result, a well funded, but much smaller fighting force can grind it to a halt. Imagine if the armed forces of 30+ European nations were fighting this war on the ground alongside Ukraine.
Damage at Klintsy military base, Bryansk region, Russia as a result of overnight strike.

Screw all that, Paddy. Consider this. When Trump proposed Europe contribute more towards it's own security threatening to send them a bill of expenses if they didn't particularly targeting Germany , everyone in Europe were both - outraged & horrified.

Outraged coz you don't go about asking friends money & in case of the Europeans you just don't talk about charging them anything. They do the billing on you & never the other way around. Don't believe me? Forget the rest of the world , just ask the Irish what were they doing from 1200-1930 .

Why horrified, you ask? Well for one you don't uncork the bottle in to which you got the genie in at the cost of 2 WWs & millions of lives lost.

Germany's neighbours immediately understood the implications & were horrified. Ironically so were ze Germans. They didn't know how a re armament plan would be taken by a new generation of ze Germans.

It's this fear which prevented them from boosting their defense budget since forever more than content to have a thoroughly incompetent armed forces . Besides the benefits it brought to industry , social welfare sector, etc was immense.

Now Russia's gone ahead & done the inevitable. This is going to reverberate down the decades as Europe has discovered in the past & will discover once more. What begins in Berlin doesn't stay in Berlin.

How lucky can you be Paddy? The economy is in a tailspin with little or no hope of recovery in a long long time to pre Brexit levels, then there are the after effects of Brexit, the rising population of Islam in the UK & Europe matched by the corresponding fall in the TFR of native European women & now Germany's rise as a military power once again.

Europe would be a fun place to be in 2050. Of this I've no doubt. Pity you'd be either 6 ft below or half way there. Either way you'd miss all the fun.

You can only say that for this decade. In the 2030s, things are going to look a whole lot different.
True, since Russia will be bankrupt by then and the European military will be far stronger following this attack by Russia. :ROFLMAO:
