Ukraine - Russia Conflict

What do you think though? Will they attack kiev?
They've moved a lot of armour up there as well as people, so it's certainly more likely than not based on the information available. But it could also be a ruse to keep Ukrainian forces spread between North and South.

Finally we should get through the winter quite easily.

The issue was never this year. Winter 2023 requires new suppliers.
Ominous. Looks like they're going to try another Leeroy Jenkins manoeuvre.

Depends on numbers. It could be for training the reserves rather than for an offensive from the north, although that's possible.

Not what you were saying 6 months ago.
That must be why none of his aircraft are flying over Kyiv, or the vast majority of Ukraine.

It's a problem for EUROPE (read Germany ;)) France will have its nuclear power plant ready, gas accounts for only 16% of our energy consumption compared to 40% in Germany. And it comes mainly from Africa and the Middle East where we have long-term contracts.

Inflation in Germany will affect France. People who lose jobs in Germany will come to France.

Otoh, France will have to sell electricity to Germany to keep France's economy afloat.

And this doesn't consider any radical change in the EU's security situation.

That's related to gas prices, not the supply itself.

2022 saw the increase of gas prices, but 2023 will see major supply disruption.

Germany is already making noises about lifting sanctions, even if partially. The Dutch are on the same page.

For our French members:
Congratulations, you've found a useful idiot from Switzerland.

Conspiracism

According to journalist Antoine Hasday, published by Conspiracy Watch, an interview Jacques Baud gave to RT France "ticks all the boxes of geopolitical conspiracism. Baud, who is sometimes invited by the traditional media, has also appeared on the extreme right-wing web television channel TV Libertés, as well as previously on RT France. Interviewed on the latter channel by Frédéric Taddeï in September 2020, he minimized the human toll of the war in Darfur, which he reduced to 2,500 deaths (compared to 300,000 according to the UN), and denied the responsibility of the Syrian army in the massacres in Homs in 2011 and in the chemical attacks in Ghouta, Khan Cheikhoun and Douma between 2013 and 2018. Taking up the official argument of the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad, he also asserts that the photographs taken by the military photographer "Caesar" are not those of political opponents who died under torture, but of soldiers of the Syrian army. Jacques Baud also clears Russia by saying that the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal was caused by "food poisoning" and that the poisoning of Alexei Navalny is probably "the work of the mafia ".

Frequent guest of Russia Today who faithfully parrots all the talking points of Russian propaganda? Yeeah, I'm not wasting my time on him, no thanks.
