As far as RID is aware, a decision has been taken to transfer a battery of the SAMP/T anti-aircraft/anti-missile system to Ukraine. The green light would have come in the last 2-3 days by the will of Premier Giorgia Meloni himself. The issue, until 2 weeks ago, was on the high seas due to both the reluctance of the Defense and the military - considering that EI has only 5 SAMP/T batteries in service and that one of these is currently deployed in Kuwait in the scope of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE – as much as some political exponents of the government majority.
