That's simply not the case, they were regularly manning distant outposts but warlords knew that they'd have a gang of A-10s, Apaches or AC-130s raping them if they tried anything. Not to mention GMLRS from out of nowhere.

An unoppressed majority and an oppressed minority is a recipe for a civil war. The Baltic states have already made moves against the Russian language.

You can have your zero tolerance, no one's gonna do jacksh!t about it with the US distracted in the Pacific. You really think the UK and the Scandanivanian countries are gonna declare war on Russia over the Baltic states? Western Europe sure as hell won't. The French and Germans aren't as daft as you think. When pushed towards war over something that stupid, they'll instead just quit NATO and focus on their common defence plan with other larger European countries.

If the Russians decide to start an insurgency in parts of Europe, you guys are gonna fight it at that level.
