Iys been 3+ decades, Tanks are failed to tackle the threat since then. Theya are nothing but today's cavalry, waiting for eventual demise. If WW3 happen now, tanks will get exposed its uselessness. @BMD & @Innominate may not agree, even Challenger2 & Abrams will also be a siting duck if they bring in large numbers to Ukrain war(provided Russians are not utter unprofessional ).

Rafale doesn't have any anti-radiation missiles as of now. But it achieves DEAD through very low and very fast penetration using accurate targeting via SPECTRA. What's the difference? Well, Rafale destroys these targets which Su-34 failed to do.

Next gen APS shall make MBTs more survival. T-14 Armata has set the benchmark, rest will follow soon.

Tanks can take small arm fire , 30mm , mortars artillery fire when falls at certain distance and at the same time they are the mobile big guns of land forces . They can badly damage enemy fortified positions . If not tank then what ? Every equipment has its role and they work in harmony , integration and all of them can be destroyed . Do some google search on how many tanks were destroyed in WW 1 and WW2 .

Most of the tank battle happened in ww2 to arab israeli war were done by another tank. The cost of hunter & the ne hunted were roughly the same. Thats not the case now.

They also used to have aviation in those days . In an attack during kursk battle 1943 soviet ilyushin Il2 destroyed 70 german tanks in just 20 minutes .

Tanks on their own will always fail and if you bunch up in a war, inside or outside a tank, you will also fail. Really surprised to see Ukrainians making the same mistakes they watched Russia making in that regard.

Then what is you battle plan ? You cant just make soldiers run naked on the field with AK47 , may be with some drones above . Until some laser emitting AI powered robo dog is invented tanks ll be there .

Stop spending multi million dollars on things which bound to get neutralized by a cheap weapon. Today's war is fought with economics too. I beleive a highly mobile artillery systems will be more effective than this mettal baskets on tracked wheels

Ys exactly, but you will not have such luxury of supporting elements while fighting an enemy, unless you ar an israel& fighting hamaz or US fighting Iraq or Afghanistan. Trust me even US will fail in tank battle if they take head on with decent army.

The first objective would always be neutralisation of enemy air defences and airpower, then C4ISR assets etc. Only after that would a land offensive begin. Ukraine doesn't have the luxury of significant airpower though.
