Have you ever wondered why for 30+ years neither the Arabs nor the Israelis nor the Americans have attacked Iran?
Can you think of a bigger rogue nation that is unmolested.

Why should they? The policy USA is always of creating regional balance of power ( read conflicts ) to further its interests. A rouge Iran which is threat to Arab world and inclined to Russia would compel the Arab world to more sideline with USA hence increase in US arms sale and other economic benefits. Israel can't attack Iran due to large geographical distance while Arab world has just show off military capabilities.
I personally believe there is a completely different dimension to this.
Maybe I'm biased. And just don't want that land and people ravaged by war.

US has had different goals and priorities after 1979
It is only now that Iran is getting attention
In the 80s , the goal was to defeat USSR
But US harmed Iran through the Eight year Iran Iraq war - from 1980 to 88
Saddam was propped up and supported by US to Weaken Iran
But when he turned against Kuwait and GCC
He had to be put down
Ironically Saddam was saved by GCC for Some years to maintain the balance of power in favour of Sunnis
Then in the 90s US was focussed on Weakening Russia and Expanding NATO by integrating Russian allies of Eastern Europe
To further humiliate Russia , US turned hostile towards India and Serbia in the 90s
India managed to break free after 1998 Nuke tests but Serbia was destroyed
After 9/ 11 , it has been Islam vs US
Only when Iran started acquiring nukes it entered into direct confrontation with US

Looking at the lack of American appetite for conflict against an adversary that is not a pushover in a conventional conflict... And also the lack of numbers in the US army to hold a territory as large as Iran, without resorting to drafting... I think the only war that US would wage is an air war... This would severely weaken Iran and it's economy... But, Israel, and GCC would have to bear huge civilian casualties ... And I don't see the appetite in either Israel (which in the 21 St century has been very casualty averse ) or the Arabs..
We are already working with great powers on that.
But I would never support an invasion on my holy land.
And killing of my blood brothers.

Mixed as they are, they are Persians.
I have no bond to other non Persian Iranian groups. They all came in long after we left.
But regardless of the fact that most of the oppression was Persian convert on Persian Zoroastrian (mainly commoner on royals and priests),
But blood is blood.
And as you guys will discover with your Muslims, and the Pakistanis, eventually, it's always thicker than everything else.
