Aero India 2023 - Bengaluru

I didn't get you . What's the final configuration ?
The FTB is on A319. Similarly the 02 Signit aircrafts will also use A319s. I thought it would use A321s.

According to aircraft codes which we know for sure we're transferred, 1 A319 was there and 5 A321.

This means that 2 more used A319s will likely be sought for Signit aircrafts.

And if in phase 1 only 3 a321s will be converted to AEWCS, then remaining 2 will be used in phase 2 maybe?

Pls refer to #72 in this thread . I believe that's the configuration .

So 1 x A319 (now operating as FTB)

and 6 x A321 (parked, out of which Livefist says 3 will be converted to AEWCS MK2)

and since the SIGNIT aircraft info poster says it will use A319 platform, I suppose DRDO will procure 02 used A319s from the market.

The SIGNIT aircrafts will use A319s, not A321s.

Then the Livefist tweet is incomplete & misleading. The IAF has already leased / procured 6 x A-321 which are parked at Hindon AFB. The 1 x A-319 is already performing duties as a FTB .

The SCA will be taken up only after the AEW is delivered , IMO .

A bit more searching gives the number of currently parked/stored A319s in India at 7, which may currently belong to various airlines, these can be a candidate for our SIGNIT program. Ofcourse DRDO can directly contact Irish firms too for any such buys.

Seems so. Only sure thing which imo can be deduced is that we are working on SIGNIT platforms on our own.

So we have 7 x A-319 + 6 x A-321 = 13 nos procured / leased by IAF.

No registration in name of DRDO only shows 1 A319 and 6 A321.

Apart from that there are 7 aircrafts currently parked across various airports in India, in stored conditions. I was just referring to them as possible candidates for acquisition.

Sorry for creating confusion.
